Hey Vlad @PutinRF_Eng
How much did they charge you bro?? @AIBA_Boxing #Rio2016

yellowcard

Sporting organisation (AIBA) hangs a few sacrificial lambs (judges) in the hope that the scandal gets passed over. Where have we seen this before? When what is required is an independent investigation of its practices as very often it is perpetrated by those at the very top.

I presume the Irish judge is one of those sent home. So we have now had a boxing judge sent home, a boxer sent home and the head of the OCI arrested. You couldn't make it up.

Drop the victim complex - you posted something in response to another user which was blatantly wrong.  I pulled you on it.  I'd re-check your definition of 'trolling'.

The Olympics is a busted flush, too many sports, too much corruption.

The Olympics is now about nationalism and money, it probably always was. The haves and the have nots, the sports corporations and the corrupt governments and associations.

When you look at the millions spent by the UK just to win track cycling medals, a sport which is not part of their culture you have to ask why? Are medals worth that much to country, just so it can get all jingoistic ignoring their many social ills, giving these athletes knighthoods reinforcing class stereotypes.

Personally I wouldn't give a cent of government money to elite athletes, they don't deserve it, let the corporations, the sports companies, the pharmaceuticals finance them.

They looked at the shambles of an Olympics they had in Atlanta and thought "How can we get more medals quickly".

Track Cycling was quite an easy win for them because it wasn't really taken seriously and doesn't require an inordinate amount of skill. They threw some money at it and hey presto they are the best in the world now.

I think they go around screening athletes in school's now from other sports and tell them "You could be a cyclist" and that's where they are getting good success. I think the young girl who came 3rd in the sprint used to be a heptahlete!

That's a bit silly... They still compete at athletes they always did at rowing, they used to at other dpirts but not so much now, cycling has been on an upward curve since Hoy .... Wiggins and the rest have rowed in behind them and that's created massive interest in it, which has given them results

That said, some move to the cycling when an injury slows them down in the some other sport, e.g. an arm injury might feck you as a heptathlete, but allow you cycle.

Yes they've cashed in on Hoy and Wiggins of course but the surge in cycling in GB happened after the dismal performance in Atlanta 1996!

Yes, blatantly.  I don't think we need to rehash that one.

I (and others it would seem) would be of the opinion that you invite a lot of this on yourself, but if you want to continue to cry victim, be my guest.

According to a hack on Twitter Billy Walsh claiming Nitkin has forfeited his semi final fight due to his injuries from the Conlon fight.

The farce gets worse!!

Parry Barnes tweeting (been backed up by other journalists) that judges sent home aren't those involved in the Russian fights of the past few days. Irish referee is Michael Gallagher from Omagh. Not since Martin Sludden has a Tyrone ref caused this much grief!
