SkillfulBill

Dublin training games should be banned from TV this is the ultimate of puke football. Time this farce was done away with. Leinster championship is pathetic stuff give me the nasty ulster championship any time above this.

Zulu

All provincial championships should be done away with as they're utterly pointless, including Ulster.

I wonder how much it costs RTE to put on this match? Camera men, Pundits, Anchor, production team....etc. What a waste!

Honestly you need to give yourself a shake if you think this is right, we need a two tier competition with a relegation/ promotion system . If you're too good for the "b" competition you won't be in it the following year. Fook the provincial championships and to hell with the ejits saying there's nothing wrong with the present system , it's outdated and unfair.
Walk-in down mchale rd , sun out, summers day , game day . That's all .

Colm O'Rourke agrees with you.

So do I.

It annoys me when people say "The Leagues don't matter".
You actually get much more enjoyable games across the board in the league.
It's only when you get to the semi-final, final stages (which are utterly pointless) that teams lose interest.
There has to be some sort of happy medium between the two.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

Zulu

Exactly, linking the league and championship to make one season. The leagues are the best part of the year in many ways as everyone gets games against teams of a similar standard. Why some people cling to the provincial championships as a central tenant of our season is beyond me. Play them as stand alone competitions if they must be retained but get them out of the All Ireland and bring in the leagues instead.

Wildweasel74

The only people happy in this game will be the offaly team for Longford beating them just to get slaughtered

Who the hell are people from other counties to be saying Longford have no business being on the same pitch as Dublin? This is the same county which has knocked Mayo, Derry (several times) and Down out of the champonship in recent years, and run Dublin to two points not so long ago.

If Dublin are doing this to Longford, they'd be be beating those counties I mentioned above by more.

Hardly likely sidney, Dublin run like this last year then came a cropper.

No they wouldn't and that isn't the point anyway.
