Quote from: Truthsayer on November 25, 2025, 10:57:59 AMScathing column by Cahir O'Kane in the Irish News about Healy Park. He's not wrong it's a soulless kip anytime of the year and a pure marsh when there's a lick of rain. He does note that most Tyrone supporters don't like it.
Doesn't even have catchnets.
Hopefully county games and club finals will go back to Dungannon.

I think, in fairness, every county ground with a few thousand in it is souless.

In an ideal world, it'd be great if every county had a small 5, 000 or 6,000 seater stadium with covered stands etc. and a training pitch beside it.
I can't remember the last time was a full house for a game in Omagh. Apparently players don't even like it. Dungannon could host most club games and county games albeit I take on board previous comments about lack of seating. Is the parking that bad? I don't think so. Used be huge crowds at senior county finals and county games.
I think we need to look at why the supporters arent attending the games rather than where the games are being played, the support in the past few years has been sub par. And it shows in the teams performances since the all ireland win in 21' the support has dropped massively and also the teams performance is the same.

I enjoy going to games to get out of house but some of the crowds have been shocking. Decent crowd came out for Mayo game last year in Omagh and was a poor performance unfortunately

Probably spoilt with success and too many games are live on TV. I was at All Ireland U20 final in Armagh and Tyrone hadn't that great a support. Is a time would have been thousands more for an All Ireland final just over the road.

What is it with people feeling to need to canvas and articulate players (supposed) views

GPA: 92% of players won't play on a Wednesday

GAA board: 8 out of 10 cats don't like Healy Park

Honest to god last I checked the players keep turning up, as for supporters, they reserve the right not to turn up but pontificate on the job lot, wall to wall zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's

Irish News reporting Darragh Canavan will miss the first few rounds of the league due to ankle surgery. Maybe a good chance for the wee bro to get a run in the starting team.

Quote from: Hand of God on November 21, 2025, 10:10:02 AMStill all very quiet on new call ups. McCullagh and Joey Clarke so far the only new call ups that have publicly been reported.

McGeary not back until at earliest the end of the league. Meyler and Bradley gone. Futures of Harte, Donnelly, Burns, Brennan, Morgan, McCurry, Hampsey,Michael O'Neill probably all not certain with their age profile.

You'd be expecting there should be 10 plus new faces that weren't on the panel last season for the McKenna Cup. Hopefully guys like Rafferty, McHugh, O'Hare, McGarrity etc see plenty of minutes during the league to bring them on as serious options this year.

Daly from omagh also got the call up along with Clarke and mccullagh from the u20s.
Good call ups. Three players we can expect to see in the team for the next ten years. Probably looking at 2027 for them to really get going but. I would say you won't see much change coming in 2026, more so in 2027 and beyond as Hampsey, Brennan, McGeary, Burns, Mattie, Peter Harte and McCurry step away.
Big thing I think Tyrone need to sort in 2026 is a half forward line that has kickout options and scores. Personally I think Cathal Donaghy on the wing and Lorcan McGarrity off 11 has the most potential at nailing down these positions.
2026:
Morgan
Teague/Quinn/Clarke
Hampsey
Devlin
McKernan
Brennan
McGeary
Kennedy
Kilpatrick
Daly
McGarrity
Cathal Donaghy
McCurry
Darragh Canavan
McElholm

Teague/Quinn/Clarke
o'Donnell
Burns
Oguz
McDonnell
Ruairi Canavan
Mattie
Harte
Conor O'Neill
Ruairi McCullagh
Callum Daly
Joey Clarke

Thats a strong side and panel for 2026 and should be looking at an Ulster Title and probably last four again.

I liked what Teague brought to the team last year and would have him starting. I think the team will end up soemthing like you named but not many at the moment are sure of their position. Shea Ohare is putting in the s&C work and will be keen to put the mayo game behind him
Teague miles better than Brennan who lacked strength and determination when needed but what Tyrone need more than anything is  1.a big strong CHF and 2. similar Cfullforward. McCullagh has the potential to be one of those 2 but maybe a bit soon for him. Donaghy if he will truly commit long term but who else? Cathal Donaghy might but there  must be others after 3 u20 wins in 4 most recent All lrelands where are the necessary big men hiding. And still no S&C specialist worth the name in O'Rourke's backroom. Are we just going to get another hit and hope 1970s style management again cos that cuts no ice in 2020s and Tyrone will end up stuck in Div2 going nowhere.

Conroy an interesting player. Horse said on an interview year or 2 back that he was surprised he hadn't became Tyrone regular. Looks like Cush back as well?

Conroy is an interesting one, not much mention of him on the board here but glad to see him back. Couple of years older now, bigger and stronger for sure. Be interesting to see how it developes. He's a natural scorer, and would add that bit of height in the full forward line

I dont see Cush there myself, unless he is the one wearing the beanie hat

All boxes ticked, now he needs game time
The best comeback to date was Dazzler 21, but he has serious grit, brilliant what he done
Hopefully a genuine off the leash centre forward waiting for Malachy under the Christmas tree

I don't think anyone doubts Conroy's ability as a footballer - he's a good as anyone in the county on his day and probably the best 2 point kicker there is in club football. The concern might be that he's been about squads before and dropped in and out of them going back to his underage days. Hopefully there's been a maturing there over time

Goals_Will_Come

Does he get into our full forward line when McCurry, Canavan and McElholm are all fit?

Hand of God

So who are we saying is in this year?

J Clarke
Callum Daly
R McCullagh (all confirmed)

Oisin McCann
Dalaigh Jones
Michael Conroy
Niall McCarney
Conor Cush?

McCarney is an interesting one. Definitely would give us a target man in at full forward. I know he's not playing the highest level at his club but he seems to have been going well this year.

We need different options rather than the same type of players. Guys like Fullerton and Jordan probably deserve a call up solely based on their form but don't really see them giving us anything we don't already have with the Canavans, McCurry, McElhom, McCullagh etc
