Whether or not it was a penalty or not, the shagging ball should not have been kicked in. O'Shea should have fouled O'Neill as he was kicking the ball in.

Anyhow, the best team out there won today. Kevin Keane was suspect (again) under high balls and our policy of playing halfbacks in the half-forwards isn't working. I believe the Mayo players only care about the performance, not the result. Well each and every one of them will have to assess their own performance. There's not one of them who performed out there today. Fair play to Tyrone for snuffing them out of it though. We held our own in the middle of the park, but apart from that we never 'won' any individual battles. Yes we got 1-2 near the end, all very much against the run of play, and had we stole that game we wouldn't have deserved to.

I hope the players look and scrutinise their performances because if we do that in three weeks time against a rampant Dublin team well we will be battling out a relegation dogfight later on.

And while I'm on a rant, why the hell was Keith Rogers wearing no. 6 when it was announced that Boyle was to be deployed there?

Ah a disappointing result after a game come back from Mayo. There will be no major loss of sleep for Mayo over the result. Despite Tyrone dominating, they still needed a last minute penalty to steal it. Tyrone will be pleased with the win. Mayo disappointed not to get a least a point. A good game for both teams. Tyrone even now are getting ready for Donegal. Win that and they will win Ulster. Mayo's training regime is probably a bit more delayed in comparison. Well done to Tyrone! Like the Champions league, the league is all about finishing 4th, so there won't be many teams in a panic yet, not even Kerry!

Hope we learn from the mistakes today like we seemed to kick in from Ballyshannon last year. Billy Fitz and Casey were doing their nut on midwest about the insistence of our players carrying the ball into the tackle and having to solo to ball at least twice before doing anything with it...

Thought Mark Donnelly was Tyrone's MOTM today. Effectively broke up Mayo attacks and linked up well with Harte.

Very impressed with Clarke's awareness and footpassing.

McAliskey always seems to be on the verge of a two or three goal game but inexperience and over-exuberance lets him down at crucial moments. Took a lovely score though.

Feel we were over confident and under estimated the Tyrone challenge. Never played with the pace and intensity we are capable of until last few minutes and we showed then what we should have been doing all day. Fair play to a gamey Tyrone outfit who took advanatge of our slopiness. Feel though if we meet in August we would have way too much for them.
