Hoof Hearted

Quote from: imtommygunn on August 26, 2026, 03:40:32 PMI can't remember if Dromintee won it or not last year but I would expect them to be fairly handy too. Hard tournament to do well in.

Dromintee yes
Beat Dungiven in semi final and clontibret in the final.
Dungiven obviously a step away again from competing this year again.

Dungiven Magherafelt seemed to be the top two in Derry from what I read.  Dromintee are in an Armagh semi but I think there's some protest has been put into the ulster council by Carrickcruppen which is delaying it.

Odhran Doherty looks like a scoring machine both in the minor and the senior.

They played each other in the semi already
Dungiven play Lavey in the final.

Is Antrim the latest starting/finishing of the Ulster counties minor club?

Quote from: Swsaffs on August 24, 2026, 08:45:26 PMHaving looked at group 4 could be very tasty.

Did pg1 take the foot off the gas to early vs Sairsfields.

If Aghagallon beat them and Lamh dearg put a tanking on Sairsfields which could happen going of past 2 games,

Pg1 could be kicking themselves,
In saying that Aghagallon need to step it up a gear to beat pg1 but very possible

In the event of 3 teams finishing on 4 points it becomes a 3 team mini league. Scores against Sarsfields will have no bearing on outcome.

Is it definitely the difference between the 3 teams and not the overall score difference?

Yes - if more than 2 teams have equal points at end of group stage its score difference between those teams only.

BigGreenField

Aghagallon need to win by 7 and st galls by 8, not impossible but not probable.

Ahagallon have best score difference in group they just need to win.

Around the glens

If 3 teams finish on level points it's currently

Aghagallon -2
Pg1 + 4
LD -2

So aghagallon would just have to win to go through? Regardless if LD put a big score up on Sars it will go to a mini table with the 3 of them?

YoungSaff

It'll be an interesting final weekend within than group , could ahaghallon do one on PG1 ?

Would PG1 be happier with LD or Ahaghallon progressing.

How will the QF be drawn or decided ? Also the relegation play off ? is it just drawn randomly ?

Any dates also ?

BigGreenField

Sorry your right Marys just need to win- however if they win by 7 then PG1 are out I think.

So if 3 teams tie at the top on 4 pts (which looks likely in some of the groups). The 2 points for the win against the bottom team in the group count, but the score difference  gained in the games against the bottom team doesn't count. That is one bizarre system. Is it new this year or was this always the case?

It's not an Antrim thing

There nothing bizarre about it, it's in place in loads of counties and I believe was adopted at congress a few years ago.

It's to prevent lopsided games affecting who progresses. Personally I don't have an issue with it
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come
