I've bought a £12 ticket for the double header in Omagh Friday night,SFC and IFC Q-finals,and a £10 ticket into the double header in athletic grounds on Saturday to watch 2 SFC  Q-finals,why do antrim shaft the supporters charging £10 into all quarter finals off the football last weekend, surely they could've put 2 double headers on

Couldn't have put it better myself. The price to watch championship football is scandalous when you consider there is the group games to pay for as well. My guess is the money is part of the reason that straight knockout championship won't be coming back as I believe Antrim only give clubs 10% of the overall gate reciept when hosting a game (I could be wrong). Pricing seriously needs looked at as surely cheaper tickets means more eyes on games and more promotion of the game in Antrim.

10% is correct but was the pre- covid rate. The biggest outrage was £10 for a JFC Quarter final . JESUS WEPT !

From what i hear the ballymena club plans include a larger gym for players including a community fitness area, a ball wall and a juvenile 3g playing surface. They currently have 3 pitches, foodlights, club house with hall, bar etc and 2 sizeable car parks. Set in rural location so plenty more room to expand. Yeah Ahoghill and Whitehill have great set ups. I wonder are playing numbers going up in these rural clubs? They seem to be! Not so sure about the city clubs and numbers increasing across the board there.. anyone know?

Ballymena is a big town with only 1 GAA club and in a good location with potential to develop.

A lot of schools hurling games get played at the Ballymena ground.

Alot of young families in Ballymena also of the GAA way of thinking. I've saw first hand the work that's went in to the All Saints Club and it's huge. Nearest club to them is Glenravel who have joined forces with Oisins in the hurling. Ballymena have had to joint with Ahoghill at underage hurling also. Numbers are there but work is only starting and keeping the kids playing will be the tough part. When I was growing up we had the GAA or pool in someone's garage. Now there's 101 optiona for kids growing up.

Yeah, like lying on their ar$es playing Xbox, lying on their ar$es watching YouTube, lying on their ar$es on Snapchat, lying on their ar$es eating chips, lying on their ar$es drinking soda etc etc.

I blame the parents for indulging the $h!te instead of giving them a toe up the hole.

Must get a run back to Ballymena soon to see what these new facilities are like. Google map still showing the old clubhouse and carpark.

The facilities havent changed a lot yet. But they are in the process of moving forward

Ok maybe I am exaggerating a bit but they have recently been winning feiles etc and at my age I felt they had players who were as good as almost anyone about. Now I haven't been underage in a long time but they had some very good ones at my age and barely a player made it to senior. I definitely think they have always been competitive at underage, maybe without winning titles, but always strong.
