The timing of O'Neill being on the Late Late is utterly spectacular.

I would expect some rioting and burning to happen over the weekend. Roads blocked at least in one or two places. Hope I am wrong...

Quote from: Tony Baloney on October 09, 2026, 09:07:33 PMPotential downside is that Bryson et al use this to turn up the heat on every other parade.

From talking to ones on the other side of the fence I dont think he carries anywhere near as much weight as we think he does. Alot are very against what they tried to  do the last few weeks in Portadown.

I'd agree that 'normal' unionist people thought it was folly.
But what unionist politicians said it was a bad idea? Who spoke out? What OO lodges put out messages asking the Portadown District to stop?

It definitely makes sense.

She's a Westminster MP not an MLA so I'd be shocked if she was to give up the salary and lovely expenses that are guaranteed for another few years.

If our politicians were as motivated in dealing with these issues as they are slabbering about Garvaghy Road this country would be in a better place.

However as these issues are not wrapped in the red, white and blue or green and gold it is not on their priority list by a long shot.

Reality is our politicians don't want to deal with these issues
This  is the reason why sf/dup are front and centre of the garvaghy  road issue
Thats more both sides are as bad as the other bullshit. SF, Aontu and PBP have handled this superbly. Michelle was fantastic on the Late Late.

Can she not switch party and keep the seat? Look at all the Reformatorys in England

Why would she have to give that up if moving party. She wouldn't.

Ultimately this was probably the only way out.

Reflecting on it, Big Gav never seemed totally comfortable with the scenario and he probably realises there is wider unionist base who saw the folly in this being resurrected.

Publicly of course he had to row in behind Lockhart & co but the attempt to sneak in under cover to meet Bryson in a bar in Hillsborough tells us a lot- if he was totally aligned, why sneak in ...

Surprised this decision came out on Friday at 9.  Monday 8am would be wiser.  There will be plenty or turmoil ahead.

Lockhart and Buckley might jump ship alright.

Also , Lockhart & Bryson managed to manufacture a total lose/lose situation for the DUP- Gav is losing votes regardless of what way this turned out - either moderates to UU/Alliance if they continued to push it or the hardliners now going to TUV if he doesn't play hard ball and pull down Stormont .

Yeah was either this or the cops going in heavy handed and god knows what kicking off again. Bryson will whip up a bit of shit with a few scumbags over the weekend, lets hope nothing major and no one hurt.

That would make him a mob leader and we know how he hates mobs.
That's just, like your opinion man.
