Adams aside, have any Irish politicians called a spade a spade today?

Im waiting for McGuinness to offer his condolences any time now.
Not quite. But he doesn't want any celebrations either.

The dancing in the streets puts me in mind of the people who line up outside court houses to take a kick at prison vans carrying the latest Fred West/ Myra Hindley/ Mick Philpott type character. For total half wits only.

I am glad the bitch is no longer breathing and I wish she had died in Brighton that unlucky night but I must agree that street parties are not what is called for. Reminds me of the stupid Americans dancing on the streets when Binladen was shot.

It is the language she understood, distasteful as this may seem to many.

Saw graffiti, huge lettering, behind St Mary's teacher training college this morning

The more I think about these parties, the more I don't have an issue with them (caveat...as long as those celebrating have truely been affected by her policies). People whose lives have been ruined by her have every right to paint her in a bad light as distasteful as it is to the main stream out there. At least history will have a record of the contempt people had for her and thats no bad thing IMO. I'm sure there are many considerate individuals who've thought long and hard about breaking the norms of society and have came out to "celebrate" to make a point (as much as it doesn't sit well with them what their doing).

Good point. Listening to the spluttering outrage in his voice at such a crime against humanity . . . rancid.

Ding Dong the witch is dead, by Judy Garland from the the Wizard of Oz is No.2 on the I-tunes  chart.

Also heard there is a proposal to rename Port Stanley to Port Margaret. That'll go down well with the Argies...

The spluttering was more to do with him just realising he'd had a visit from the ghost of christmas future. The street parties are a welcome and necessary antidote to the rewriting of history in the mainstream media, not least the coal strike Riefenstahls in the BBC. I hope they try the minute's silence at this weekends football games, then the world will see what her own people thought of her.Ten million they're going to spend seeing her off. It would have been better spent 87 years ago.

Edit, antidote to Orwellian shit like this

Parliament recalled so a few patsies can line up to tell the world what a great person she was.

Seems to me that we're in for the mother of all street parties here, when the likes of Paisley and Adams shuffle off this mortal coil, now that the precedent has been established. We'll probably end up with another quango to sort it all out, The Street Party Commission :-\

You're probably right. I was thunderstruck at the worshipful tone of Nick Robinson on the Beeb last night. Whatever became of the Bolshevik Broadcasting Corporation?

Always the Establishment dear boy, just hid it well (In Britain anyway, no one in the north was ever fooled).
