I am not overly confident either,

blah, blah, blah...Armagh by 6 ;)

im being serious, its the 1st time in a long long time that i wouldnt be quietly confident heading into championship match, Ronan Clarke is too big of a miss, Derry are on home turf,

Hats, Flags and Head Bands!

Think that O'Rourke had to throw something in there to confuse the opposition as we had shown everybody our hand with big wins against Down and Donegal. Any one of the combinations guessed at by Armagh posters may be the one used so that's a good thing too (assuming the players are sure of the role they are to play).
I believe that we have trained quite a bit through the year with Toner at FB so I wouldn't rule it out.

I'm not trying to pull a fly one here either by talking up Derry's chances or playing down Armagh's but championship is a different matter and we have some guys there who have yet to convice me or have not experienced the white heat of championship football
You're right, a number of lads are untested at this level, it'll make for interesting viewing on Sunday. Pity we had a couple of wasted years under the previous management as the lads that you are referring to should've had a taste of championship football by now.

Wouldn't say I'm overly confident (who ever is in Championship?) but I'd be optimistic we could beat them alright, if only for the reason they are coming of the back of a woeful run of results in the league and we've seem to be progressing with every game. There's not much of a gap in standard of first and second, so at this stage there's no reason to believe we can't take them.

I'm only coddin but seriously I do think that you'll take the inbreds. Have been impressed by O'Rourke so far and I think he's finally brought a more attacking game plan which has loosened the shackles. Of course Derry will always be dangerous with the two Bradleys but limit their impact and you'll be well on your way. Can't see Toner starting full back, would make no sense at all considering his firn at MF during the league. You've Donaghy and Mallon for the the Bradleys, that should be plenty!

There is still far too many of you getting carried away with a few league results, we beat an average Down in Croke Park by 2pts who could have snatched it late on. How many times in the last 10-12 years have we been turned over in the league and when it came to the championship we blew those same teams away. If any of you think for one second that Derry having a poor league will have anything to do with this game on Sunday then you are mistaken, they are clearly being set up for the championship and will be hitting us with the intensity on sunday that we haven't had this year.

I hope Armagh win but if you gave me a free £100 bet I'd put it on Derry

Paul Duffy is too good to be in the full back line. I'm hoping Barry Shannon will be brought back in instead of Mackin.

I'd say McGurn will have brought our lads up a notch or two in the last few weeks too. I'd bet we won't be found lacking in physicality and fitness but it's whether we stick to our gameplan or go back to our bad habits of overly defensive play when the pressure comes on will be my worry. That and a few lads being untested at this level.

Thanks

What do you mean unsubstantiated?  It is a fact! thirty two Derry players saw it. The majority of the the Derry backroom staff saw it. Eoin Bradley has four stitches below his eye. It is the talk of Derry.
What substantiation do you require?

Why? How come! This is a discussion board. I can stand over everything I have said here. When you see some of the rumours and gossips and lies on here where no repercussions are taken, why should I be banned?

2. Libellous/insulting posts about a real person
In this day and age, many more people are becoming aware of the existance of boards such as this. While this is generally a good thing, it also means that the posts are more likely to be read by a casual visitor to the site. In these circumstances, the board must protect itself against allegations of libel, or defamation and so any posts which make derogatory remarks about a named, or clearly implied, individual, are a serious breach of the rules, and dangerous to the board itself. This particularly applies to individuals' private lives, finances, legal issues etc etc. This also applies to unwarranted abuse of GAA players and officials.
