Cameroon beat the argies 1-0 in 1990, back in the days when the holders used to play in the first game, this was ditched in 2006 and this year. It's now the hosts who open the tournament. (Germany v Costa Rica in 2006)

Very good AFS  :D

He should retire now, 100% record from the spot. And better than Diana Ross.

Cameroon weren't taking any shit that day.

Without even looking, that has to be the clip of the three lads trying to mince Caniggia!

There was a "50 Greatest World Cup Shocks" on BBC 3 last week with Richard Bacon and Peter Crouch (pretty funny actually) that had it in it. Brutal lads altogether.

EC Unique

Spain to win and Torres top scorer is 25-1. Has to be a good bet IF he can stay fit.

You got it Gallsman, and yes, I watched that on BBC3. Was annoyed they never showed Zidane's headbutt though. Imagine the reaction if something like that happened when Nigeria play Argentina tomorrow! The Caniggia incident, that is, although another headbutt would be entertaining.

Are all games on RTE player?

Galwaybhoy

And it has started on RTÉ.  Openening Ceramony about to be shown and then kick off at three for South Africa vs Mexico.

Peter Solan the Great

I see a few token whites, you'd think they would get a full house for the opening ceremony. The South Africans are a lot like the Dubs! there getting the last pint in down the pub! ;D

Wrong striker. Villa is favoured by the Spanish coach I believe. He often takes Torres off to put on an extra midfielder and only plays one up front at times I think?

R Kelly on now, he doesn't look the same when he is not surrounded by adolescents.

Looks like this is OK if you're in Albania but not in the black North!.  RTE has internet rights for the Free State only.  Seems us Brits will have to go with itv.com for the game today??

Its here at last, and the day off work. Lets get it on! Hoping South Africa can get the win, but i think Mexico will be to strong.
