However, it is Tomás who will go down in history as one of the finest footballers of his or any other generation.

I'd probably have Tomas just ahead too.

Here's a mildly amusing tester for you O'Neill.

If (like someone mentioned earlier) Sean Kelly was a Tyrone man, would he oust PJ?

Tough one. What would Kelly be like playing in an All-Ireland semi-final and final against the likes of Kerry? No one can answer that. Kelly is a fantastic footballer for St Gall's and when he played for Antrim in division four. He probably would be just as effective at the highest level playing against the best half forwards in the game but you cannot say for sure. Could he handle Tyrone's half forwards - yes. Would he cause Tyrone headaches - yes. Has he an achilles' heel - doesn't look like it. But until you're experiencing the white heat of Galvin or O'Sullivan, Dooher or McGuigan, or whoever he's tailored to mark, in late August/Sept Croke Park turf in front of 80'00 it's hard to call. Jordan can, comfortably. Kelly probably could as well.

Kelly replace Jordan? From 03-08 definitely not. Jordan was immaculate in 05. Watch that final. He just doesn't make errors.
Now, we'll wait and see how Jordan is after his rest.

The only player i think that could be argued from that list is damien freeman as they're both similar in their defensive weaknesses.
The reast are quite a ways better than jordan.
