Well, its Meath Vs Dublin, Parnell Park next Sunday! 

Parnell is booked next Sunday for a club game - I'd say it'll be on Saturday night under lights.

Its on hoganstand for 2pm Sunday in Parnell.

Great game today Dubs 1-15 to 1-18 after extra-time = replay.



Kildare v Laois- 7 sent off - well will there be the uproar media witchhunt against these two teams, will it be on the front page of the Independent with the Headline Blue murder? Will there be a thread 20 pages long with vile and venom from people not associated with these two counties, will it be on RTE for 2 weeks? will the county boards get big fines?  Will people name individuals and call them scumbags etc- Doubt it because its not the Dubs.

Exciting game not  a great game. But a decent afternoons entertainment.

Enjoyable fare for this time of year.
Ref was quite fussy but he has to implement the rules I suppose.
Keep the mark (because we caught plenty of ball!) but get rid of that fist-pass rule.
Delighted to see Jamie Queeney is developing into a very dangerous forward.
Followed him from U-21's on and I think he has all the necessary tools to make his mark this year.
Biggy Reilly played well too.
We are still way too ponderous when we have possession in our own half though.
With the fist-pass rule it is difficult to work it out through the hands as the ball spends more time in the air, thus giving the opposition time to get a hand in.
Moyles is the only defender we have that can see when somethings not working and change it up.
Niall McKeigue was completely at fault for both goals and this nearly cost us the game.
For Dublin I thought Hubbard, McMenamon and Kelly played well.
I'd say both camps will be happy to get another competitive game under their belts.
Lots of new faces on both teams and these are the sort of games that show you where they are at.
I'm presuming we now get to play Dublin in Navan, AT LAST!

I thought Young Dara Nelson at wb for Dublin was outstanding. Henry gave a  decent shift but Graham Reilly played well on him.
Best player on the pitch was Queeney-excellent prospect- big strong quick and can score.
Bernard Brogan came on and kicked 3 balls into the keepers hands which meath went the full length of the pitch on the last one to equalise.
We were also 4 up in the last period of extra time and still ballsed it up to need a point to level it.
Enjoyable but of the 40 odd players today on both sides probably only 8/9 will see championship action.
Navan on Wednesday night.

True but you know yourself Indiana, if you can find even one or two new lads that will be an addition to the championship squad that's all you want from these games.
We need to play Queeney at FF consistently from now on.
I think Joe is happier at centre forward anyway.
A forward line of Byrne, Sheridan, S Bray, Ward, Queeney, D Bray is pretty decent.
I would hope Nestor and O'Rourke come back into the mix as well.
Defensively we have problems though.

Desperate game. Familiarity really does breed contempt. The NFL game should be interesting to say the least!

Never though Laois had it in them. Kildare team is average 6ft 1 and 13-14 stone. Laois must have been body punching or something because half of them wouldn't be up to the elbow of some of the Kildare team.

Dubs & Meath was exciting enough for the time of year - Queeney up front for Meath stood out.

From a Dublin perspective, it's good that we have another game Wednesday  - we need the likes of Deans Kelly & Rock, McCauley etc getting more game time before Killarney.

Regarding the Laois v Kildare brawl, I'd expect a similar level of punishment to be handed down as was two years ago for the Dublin v Meath game and a similar level of hand-wringing by the journalists present - I wonder whether Ian O'Riordan witnessed any 'sickening punches' this time?
