After the Gallagher incident Errigal were incensed and the game became heated. Gallagher who plays corner back was sent off in a case of mistaken identity. His brother plays full back and he was involved in a bit of horse play with McCann. When the ref sent off the wrong Gallagher he lost the plot and threw a haymaker which will correctly earn him a 3 month ban. The very last play of the game an Errigal man went in on McMahon late and he pushed him away, minimal contact. The lad went down like he'd been shot. He lay there and rolled about the pitch. The ref blew the whistle, cue 5 minutes of mayhem. At this stage a few more fists started to fly. There was talk that McMahon got sent off as well though I didn't see any card being flashed. With the club championship 4 weeks away on the Saturday, I believe, he'd miss the game if he gets a month, which would be harsh to say the least.

Does Peter Loughran still play with Carrickmore. Havent seen him mentioned in any of the scoring stakes since the start of the new season.

Peter was injured in the off season but is back training at the minute. I didnt make the game in Clonoe in Sunday thank god but I hear he is badly missed. I really have never heard an injury list like the one Carmen has at present in the club before and the bad news is that a few of them are long term. We need forwards to get form back!

Over the last while it seems the high and mighty purer than pure Omagh GFC have been a common denominator on most incidents in our wee county of Tyrone  simple fact!!!!

Over the last while it seems the high and mighty purer than pure Omagh GFC have been a common denominator on most incidents in our wee county of Tyrone  simple fact!!!!

I believe that Omagh are trying to balance their undoubtable footballing prowess with the hardness of the teams that they come up against. Is it a case of Omagh (the footballing team) are not getting adequate protection from referees?

In fairness there hyave been quite a few dust-ups this last year;

The reality is Mcann came on as a sub and started fighting almost immediately, he hit michael gallagher 3 or 4 times without provocation and gallagher did not hit back. The referee Michael Hughes however saw fit to send both players off.  Anyway, after getting his sending off gallagher went over and hit mcann from straight on. I wouldnt have much sympathy for mcann, he went out with the sole intention to start a fight and unfortunately for him he picked the wrong man on the omagh team. The only difference between the two players it seems, is that gallagher hit him alot harder.

Dromore's Shane McMahon's plight on Hogan Stand earlier today:

Former Tyrone All-Ireland winner Shane McMahon is fighting for his life after being found unconscious outside a local nightclub last week.

The 23-year-old Dromore clubman was taken to hospital in Omagh in a taxi on April 25 before being transferred to Enniskillen. He was discharged a few hours later but was brought back to the Erne Hospital in Enniskillen before being taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

He underwent a four-hour operation last week but remains critically ill and his family are maintaining a vigil at his hospital bedside where he remained in a coma last night.

The PSNI said there has been no arrests or charges in relation to the incident and officers are investigating how he sustained his injuries.

Mr McMahon, who had a two-year-old son, was part of the Dromore St. Dympna's team that won its first Tyrone SFC title in 2007. He was also a member of the Tyrone minor squad that claimed All-Ireland honours in 2004.

Dromore club officials Joe Rafferty told the Irish News: "Nobody can believe what has happened. His family, including his girlfriend, have been at his bedside. They are very appreciative of all of the support that people are giving.

"He's a very popular fella. He's a real role model for all the young fellas in the town. He has won a number of trophies in his career, including prizes for the Tyrone under 21s and the Tyrone minors. He has also won four or five league titles."

You are trying to put this Gallagher boy up as some sort of hard man..... There is nothing hard about hitting a man from behind while he is walking off the pitch!

Story was in Monday's Tyrone Herald. The rest latched onto it on Tuesday and sensationalised as far as I can read.
