Anyone else good enough?

Strange selection to be honest. You have included 4 men on the bench who walked away or declined the invite because of lack of game time and you are putting them on the bench.
What makes you think they will accept the same scenario this time?

They don't have to accept it, but I'm sure M.O'R will give them all the chances to prove themselves.

Carmen1932

DKB back up in Division 1. Moy left that one behind them.

Sean Cavanagh reminds me of The Wolfe Tones. Says he's gonna retire, then comes back out the next year.
Sorry Sean for the comparison. I know you love the 'UK'.

Silly stuff in Tyrone.

League should be finished up before chmpionship starts.

They don't know who is in the promotion/relegation play offs until after the championship.
I don't see any reason why the top end of Div 1 can't be sorted before championship though.

Division 1 title should be decided before the championship starts as both teams today seemed uninterested. That game would have been a far better spectacle if held about 6 weeks ago.

100% agree

If Errigal win tomorrow and manage to get a decent run in Ulster then both carmen and Dungannon will have to continue training away for weeks until Errigal are knocked out.

I can understand the point of having a top 4 as it means less dead rubbers or possible match fixing but they need to find a way of completing before the championship. It would make winning it more meaningful as well as waiting until after the championship makes it feel like a consolation prize if they didn't win the championship.

If they are to change it to first place wins the league, an idea to possibly stop dead rubbers could be to leave the championship draw until after the league finishes and use league positions to seed the draw in some way.

Match surely be off with an amber weather warning?

Could be the lowest scoring final to date..

games are off. maybe the weather is bad around Omagh? as I thought it would be much worse around these neck of the woods.

will have to be played mid week surely? to allow for possible replay with Ulster Preliminary in 2 weeks time.

Very windy in Omagh at minute but dry enough

tyroneStatto

Refixed for Friday evening, does that mean winner on the night?

Surely Trillick will concede to help Errigal prepare for their Ulster campaign?
Or maybe Errigal could rest a few lads?

Fullerton & McGarrity not impressive in the Championship at all for Carmen, probably due to the style of play adopted. T Murray and Munroe your most impressive performers

All for the convenience of MOR who has the Derry final next Sunday. It's surely not right to have a county final on a Friday night, it's not fair on amateur players and supporters.

The point about style of play not suiting Carmen forwards applies to almost every team in Tyrone. The club teams/tactical systems in Tyrone make it very difficult for forwards to shine.
Even teams with good forwards are reluctant to kick it to them in fear of losing it and not getting the ball back for a period. The vast majority of club coaches in Tyrone are of the anti-risk mentality.

Just found out the Derrylaughen chairman is a 25 year old. Surely one for the record books?

Agree that club football in Tyrone makes it hard for top forwards to shine. David Clifford would struggle. Farrago Canavan didn't score against Pomeroy & hasn't really got going.
McGarrity and Fullerton would shine in the new rules - won't be playing into a blanket defence etc. Reality is, come championship, they be man marked by the other teams best defenders as well as having to deal with a sweeper or two in front of them.

C. Munroe very reliable. T Murray very good this year.. wasn't given a proper chance by previous management.

The only forward that has played well this championship is Mark Bradley. Eoin McElholm too I suppose.

Will Conor Meyler play for Tyrone again? Hasn't kicked much ball in recent years. New rules might suit a runner like him if he's fit.
