Maybe good news regarding coming back on board with Tyrone if he's fit to take on Coalisland.

Big difference between managing a club for a one off game and going to a county team for a year.

Has anyone watched Derrylaughan play this year? Not much talk about them. Assume they will beat Owen Roes, Kennedy Midfield, Carney up front, James Donnelly home from America, Connor Hughes strong running defender and a good bench including the Gervins.

Think Owen Roes match up well with them tbh they have alot of size and physicality to break down the Derrylaughan defence. Would give DL the slight advantage but certainly won't be an easy one

Ballygawleyftw

McShane will be a handful for any of the DL defence

Tyrone Gaa

Derrylaughan are coming in under the radar but have enough weapons in their team to hurt any team in intermediate. Carney is a top player. Excellent dead ball kicker. I'd expect them to dispose of Owen Roes.

At the start of the year after the draw the expectation was semi finalists would be:

Greencastle vs Moy
Moortown vs Derrylaughan

Although as the start of the year nobody would have tipped Gortin for the league.

All to play for.
Living the dream!!!

Beragh v Greencastle - Greencastle prob be fovourites here but I think this is a massive game for Beragh and the Mgt as if they can put a run together to the final it might save them so they will be up for it. Be tight.
Owen Roes v Derrylaughan - This one be close wouldnt be surprised with a draw but think Derrylaughan could be the dark horse for the title
Aghyaran v Moortown - Moortown win this with a few to spare - favourites for the title
Moy v Rock - Moy win this one by 6+ seem to be motoring now Conroy back

Carrickmore v Killyclogher - This one be tight enough but think Carrickmore finish stronger. Dont think either will win the title anyway.
Loughmacrory v Dungannon Another tight one. Dungannon by a couple
Ardboe v Trillick Be tighter than some think but Trilick will pull away in the end. Dont think they are title contenders though
Errigal v Clonoe - Massacre

Interesting take on Trillick been very consistent in Tyrone since came up to senior, would be foolish to rule them out I would think.

Think Aghaloo will have the handiest day out of the weekend. Glenelly will beat errigal comfortably. The men from Strabane will have a couple of points to spare over the t*tts. Drumquin and Killeeshil should be a tight encounter.

Errigal v Glenelly
Tattyreagh v Strabane
Brocagh v Aghaloo
Killeeshil v Drumquin

Based on Poorer league than usual. Had trouble with Ardboe in the League and found it hard enough to shake off a poor Eglish team in the last round! Plus Back to Back Tyrone Championships arent a real thing

They also won Tyrone last year without one of their talismen Matty Donnelly, first round all about getting over the line.  They may not win it but I would think take a good team to beat them.

Personally think they could beat Ardboe by as much as Errigal beat Clonoe. Two very comfortable wins for the two of them probably not getting out of second gear. Come the semi finals but winners of Loughmacrory and Dungannon will be a massive challenge. Personally fancy Dungannon for the whole thing overall.

Quote from: Rebel84 on September 08, 2024, 08:09:10 PMDungannon were comfortable as half time approached and a 1-5 to 0-2 scoreline would have been more reflective but that 1-1 at the end of the half gave Donaghmore renewed hope and it was nip tuck the whole way through the second half. Paul Donaghy was well marked from play by the Donaghmore No.3 but he showed great composure for the penalty as a miss would have left Donaghmore only needing to go for a point on that last attack. Overall it was a very good game and you'd feel that Donaghmore are about 2 years away from being proper contenders.

Donaghmore 2 years away from being contenders? Never have & never will. Rarely get beyond 1st round of championship. Too nice. Youth success guarantees nothing. Decent league side - that's all. The people of Donaghmore are more interested in planting flowers and winning bloom competitions. Says it all really.
