On watching last nights game, what is it about referees that when they send a player off, they always try their best to even it up by sending an opposing player off as soon as they can? O'hagan sent mcguigan off last night for the slightest of tugs on a jersey yet let mccullough stay on field after taking out the ardboe defender with a knee high challenge. Then when remembering he was already booked, ohagan put his book back in the pocket. Poor decision by the ref but ardboe once again only have themselves to blame. They lost control of themselves at the end.

No. 7 was seen striking McGuigan by the umpire. This was passed to the referee who decided to only issue a yellow card. I have no doubt this game will be reviewed and 7 will be suspended for the replay and quite possibly a few other players will be sweating.

Is this fact or opinion?

Well - the fact he was booked meant something happened

If this was indeed a fact surely striking a player would warrant a red card?

All the same, if Ardboe did play a bit on the side of codology, isn't it great to see a team match Dromore who are the kings of skulduggery and the dark arts.
There's at least a couple of clubs who are definitely worse - Dromore's reputation comes from on the field (off the field they're OK) but even then there's quite a few clubs in Tyrone who would be easily enough up on Dromore's level that way if not even worse.
[/b]

Who would that be? I personally think Dromore are the worst, there not a hard physical team like carrickmore, more a sly dirty team. Players like ricey, fabian oneill etc. In saying that ardboe are no saints either. If i was pushed to say who was second to dromore maybe kildress.

can open, worms everywhere

I'm going to let this one slide seeing i'm in a good mood ahead of our game shortly!  ;D

My point exactly. Why did the umpire say he struck and then the ref only gave a yellow card.

The whole games was littered with examples of players getting off with a tick when they should have got yellows. If the game was refereed the way it was in the opening half there would have been more than three players sent off. So many yellow cards were given out early that when it came to a foul the ref opened the book to check if that player had already received a yellow card. If it warrants a yellow card, give the yellow card. I understand the game might have been difficult to manage at times, but it must be done with consistency.

There goes my Brocagh v Derrytresk final hopes. If Killeeshil win the championship Brocagh can still go up as second placed in league

gutted here too. I guess derrytresk have the whole parish support now in junior championship. Brocagh just couldnt beat a whole parish's second string. Ah well, our wee parish still has two runners in senior and one in junior. not bad going i suppose (hear that shit stirring)
First on the field and last to leave

Hereiam

Thats a big result for EC lll. Semi Final of the Junior Championship up next for them.
