Carragher needs to get over himself about TAA leaving. The lad has given Liverpool 7-8 really good years. Football clubs usually throw 11 players on the scrapheap at the end of every youth season in order to sign some mercenary from Skopje or Montevido instead of them. I really don't see why any youth player should have a loyalty to their club given how shitty most of them treat their contemporaries, a few exceptions aside like Brighton or Southampton.

Liverpool were until very recently paying absolute pittance, relative to other clubs, to Bradley, Kelleher and Diaz despite how important all 3 were to the excellent form the team has had for ~24 months. Now I know footballers are overpaid but still it must be incredibly frustrating to see Evanilson, Donal Mallens or Harry Maguire make 10 times your salary for getting trounced by Palace meanwhile your performances include beating Real Madrid and topping the league.

TAA cost Liverpool, not one dime in transfer fee's so why the expectation that they should get one for his leaving?

Every once in a while a lad needs a change of scenery, a new challenge, something to strive for.

If you ever watch Roy Keane on those podcasts, he regrets not going to Italy or Spain to have a go there.

That's why Liam Brady is still the best Irish player ever for me.

Opposing supporters seemingly can't understand why Liverpool supporters would have an issue with him wanting to go.

Personally I don't think Liverpool will suffer too much.  Will be a better balanced team.

Is net spend not what you "invested" in that asset for what you "realised" from their sale, so for TAA that would be a big fat zero.

A lot of players are big negatives on the asset sheets in that regard although Liverpool are probably the best at getting big money for peripheral squad players.

It's 30 years since the Bosman ruling, and 24 years since Sol Campbell moved across the road. Just last year Mbappe went on a free transfer having been bought for €180m.

I agree with that.  Imagine if he was not performing, Carragher would most likely be calling for him to go.  Football is a ruthless business and that works both ways.  Just like in any line of work, people seek out fresh challenges.

Am I disappointed that he is leaving? Yes. Is he doing the right thing?  Only he knows that. Will the club get over it?  Absolutely. Yeah he's a local lad who has lived the dream but it's not the world it was 10, 20, 30 years ago. The notion of a 1 club legend is long gone.

And guess what,  he absolutely is replaceable. Of the 3 players whose contracts were up for renewal his is the easiest one to replace for the team. In fact Slot may be 'happy' to lose the local hero as it removes the 'requirement' to play him when he has sometimes not performed. And this is not revisionism,  there have been many occasions where the teams weakness on the right has been exposed.  With Salah being given less responsibility to defend then there needs to be a more defensive RB. That is just a fact.

Thank you Trent for those moments of brilliance. I hope Madrid continue their downward spiral and you win nothing in Spain but have a fulfilling life. Give Bradley the minutes over the last 3 games where possible to plan ahead.

Lots of Liverpool fans on Twitter seem oblivious to the fact that the very mechanisms which allow them to swoop for other clubs' best players, means that sometimes this will happen to themselves.

Or perhaps they just do expect things to be different for them. I don't know why.
