Not great alright. We were average. Chelsea not much better really but they capatilised on Masch's mistake and took their chance. Second goal was immaterial really at that stage. Gerrard not really at the races at the moment and to win games like this we need him playing well. Benny should probably have started the match as well. Riera had a poor game. Never got enough support up for Torres. Usually he had to take on 2 or 3 defenders by himself. More reason to worry about Carragher. He was never quick but he looks like he's running through syrup at the moment. Need to get Agger and Aquiliani fully fit and into the team. Masch took a stupid dive in the first half which he is prone to do on occasion but Drogba takes the biscuit altogether. I have never seen a bigger shitehawk in football. He makes Ronaldo look like a paragon of virtue and sportsmanship.

I was hoping liverpool would win this one because Chelsea are the biggest threat to united retaining the title along with Arsenal. Liverpools title dreams appear to be over as they have now lost three gamesand we are only in the first week of October.

Carraher was shocking today, what ahs happened to him?

Torres seemed to have wing mirrors the day, he must hate the site of Terry altogether.

Finally Liverpol were a por second best today, they have no depth and Benayoun should have started, he was about the only creative player they had. Durt Kuyt is woeful and wouldnt get his place on the current Leeds side.
Armagh, the one true love of a mans life.

QuoteThe OFFICIAL Liverpool FC thread - can anyone stop Torres??

Carvalho didn't have much trouble doing it today.

Poor performance, but there wasnt much between the teams until the goal really.
Had we got the pen for the foul on skrtel it might have been different.

Lets hope that Aquilana is anything like the player rafa has been telling us about.

Yes, they might as well sack Benitez and sell Torres and Gerrard right now! Unbelievable! :D

I was actually expecting Chelsea to be better. They didnt look like scoring for most of the game, but Liverpool gave them the goals in the end so it didnt matter. No doubt Drogba is the biggest cheat in football. There is nobody in top level world football who feigns injury even close to as much as Drogba.

I think Carvalho is class. Usually completely covers up Terry's inadequacies.

Turned out to be a mistake by Liverpool to play Riera ahead of Benayoun.

Sure Drogba is nothing new. To be honest he had cleaned up his act rightly the year, and you seen JT having a word with him today.

However Hound why did you not come on and comment on Mascherano, and Lucas' dives?

I would agree with you that Mascherano blatantly dived, it was pretty disgraceful. I'm not a big fan of mascherano myself but I don't think Lucas did. I know the incident you're on about and I don't think he dived, there was only very slight contact but he was going at speed and off balance.

Even to compare them is ridiculous. Every team has players who dive, in fact there's probably very few players who have never dived. Mascherano probably has a dive once every other game, Gerrard didnt do a dive yesterday, but will probably do one in his next game. Drogba though can't go 20 minutes without a dive and rarely goes 10 mins without some playacting. Towards the end of the game he did 3 dives, with feigning injury added on, in the space of 90 seconds. As you said, by the last of those dives Terry was clearly embarrassed enough that he had to go over to him to tell him to get the feck up.

Everytime I watch a game involving Liverpool Mascherano seems to be complainging constantly.  If he is not rolling about he is over in the ref's face yapping about this or that, he puts me in mind of Freddy Mercury performing Opera.

I don't seem to remember too many saying this was our year this year. In fact when ever a second striker wasn't got and Alonso left most people knew we'd be weaker.

Sure it'll not matter anyway EC, Cheski have the league wrapped up!!
