Amazingly Nani's injury leaves only 5 Man Utd players appearing at the World Cup: Rooney, Carrick, Vidic, Evra, Park.  Can't think of any more ???  That's fewer than Portsmouth and the same number as Wigan.

Just another United and Chelsea player taking the tournament off. It is not a coincidence is it? The players out of the tournament are Ferdinand, Nani, Ballack, Essien, Drogba etc. All the other injured players from other clubs are going to soldier on  Pirlo and Robben etc, with the exception of Drogba the United and Chelsea players know where their priorities lie.

United & Chelsea had a injury prone season & now it's carried through to the World cup no coincidence at all, the like's of Ballack (33) Drogba (32) & Rio (31) won't get many more world cups to play in? so these injuries are a big blow to those players

What's the weather goign to be like in South Africa at this time of the year - I know they are in their winter but is it going to be akin to say Old Trafford in the middle of January?

Johannesburg weather is currently 20c so i guess they get warm enough winters? have to agree with tyroneboi! horn things (called vuvuzuelas) are gonna make most people watch the games on mute

According to the Guardian it's confirmed that Drogba will play no part in the World Cup and Robben will miss Holland's first game

Agreed, it looked too good to be true until I got a second look at it! First one looks good, I put £5 on Spain and Messi at 60/1.

Common lads what's with the 1/5 pounds? put on some serious cash like 50 or 100 & count big buck winnings after  ;)

Watching Spain v Poland at the minute - thought Puyol had gone the way of Nani et al - still limping though.

With those type of odds all you need is a couple of quid on. You go by the old cliche "You have to speculate to accumulate"

Iniesta hobbled off after 38 mins. Didn't seem too bad though and just looking for attention I'd wager. Physio came over with a bag of ice and Iniesta whipped out a G&T.
