Not really, he just tends to destroy the game as a spectacle. Looking back on it, I honestly don't remember Tyrone ever losing a Championship match Kinneavy has reffed. Fair enough, drew with Cavan after an inexplicable 7 minutes injury time but that's your lot

Its a recipe for disaster that Gearóid Ó Conamha is referring another Ulster team. Every Down man in the country should feel aggrieved with his recent performance. It was, and i still stand by it, one of the worst inter-county referring performances i have ever witnessed. If i was a Tyrone man i would have the rosary beads out praying that Ó Conamha doesn't strike again!!

Generally don't like ref bashing but the three ref who make me scream out loud are:
1. The identity crisis man - terrible in both languages
2. Mr. Bannon not far behind number 1.
3. Mr. White from Donegal

It is a tough job but some guys just look like they want to steal the show.

One of the privileges of being a Sligoman is that we can't get either of the Duffys at county level. And one of the benefits of being one of the lowest-ranked clubs in said county is that we can't get them either, as they would never stoop to our lowly level, not when they are the supreme authorities on the rulebook, deserving of a higher stage than ours to display their 'talents'. Says it all about the lesser Duffy that the Western today had a pop at him re the Mayo minor final, even when they won! And Marty is all too prominent now, banker for the big day if you ask me, with much regret.

Yet strangely, neither are the worst ref I've come across at county level. Oh no, they aren't even in the same league as a Mr. D. Corcoran from Islandeady in Mayo. Kerry-Tyrone with him in 'charge' would be fun. One common thing between Marty and Corcoran is that they both graduated from ladies football, only they still seem to officiate as if they are still there.

Others who irk me greatly are Michael Hughes, usually screwed us over, Vincent Neary, bitter borderman who has always done us when reffing our teams, Kinneavy, and the clown who did the league final in Longford, near certain he was a Clare ref but I don't think it was Hickey. not that he's much better if it wasn't him.

I see said Mr Corcoran was to ref the Down/Dublin Minor game. He 's down as being from Roscommon 

It's bad enough the Rhubarb plaidhc doing us in the Connacht minor Final in 2007 without now being associated with us by GAA HQ.

The GAA won't listen to any objections over Gearoid O Conamha's appointment as referee for Sunday's All-Ireland quarter-final between Kildare and Tyrone at Croke Park, writes Colm Keys.

O Conamha is a brother of former Galway player Stephen Kinneavy, who lives in Kildare and has been involved in coaching teams in the county in the past.

O Conamha had originally been appointed to referee the Laois/Kildare Leinster final in 2003 but was replaced by Seamus McCormack after pressure was applied on Croke Park that didn't come from the Laois County Board.

However referees co-ordinator Pierce Freaney insisted last night that the decision to change in 2003 would not be replicated six years on, saying: "Gearoid is one of our best referees and the link with Kildare is immaterial to us."

I thought Kearins was a good ref, was he not? As for EOH, well I think I'll leave it...

OMS is bang on, agree with all his points, the only thing Kerins did wrong was have the audacity to send off Colm O Rourke deservedly, never reffed after that because of politics in GAA seen to it.
