Despite his recent showings and Robbie Fowler always making a tit of him, Gary Neville was a class act. Always lauded as a United hero more for his love of them club, always felt his footballing contribution was undervalued.

I agree Corn. I'd have taken Gary Neville to Liverpool in a heartbeat. Very underrated.

And I like the fact that the club he plays for means so much to him, even if it is United, and he hates Liverpool. Fair play to him I say.

Let me qualify this post by saying i think Gary Neville is a grade A p*ick, but football is all the better for having players playing for their team when it means something to them, Carragher, Gerrard, Giggs, Scholes etc. Football at the highest level is becoming more a business venture than "sport" and i know plenty of fans that are becoming more and more detached from it for this reason.

Add John Terry to that list.
That's what I can't understand the criticism of some of these players. These lads show the attitude that we wish all professional footballers to display. I hate them all too, but stick them in a Chelsea jersey and things change.

However I do admire them.

I actually did mean to add Terry to the list.

Just thought I would mention the diving of Pienaar yesterday.
Laughable & if he keeps it up he will be up there with Ronaldo/Drogba & Stevie G very soon!!

One of our old boys Phil Neville was guilty of a cheeky dive at one stage

Jesus the man just wont stop imitating Gary will he? Let it go Phil!

:D Nice clip Minder.

I reckon Phil is and always has been a better player then gary, great versatility

Its a bit like comparing two Asses at a Donkey derby...

Those 2 'asses' have a fair few medals pinned to them LL  ;D
and i'd say Phil has a few more premier league medals than stevie G, jamie Cack,Hype eeh aw. I could go on but sure.....

Wouldnt complain too much about the penalty
It was a penalty but as corn says swings & roundabouts

Dont think anyone would pay £25 million in the current climate & with the form of Berbatov.
Although as you say he wont be sold. Fergie doesnt really like being made out to be wrong so he will hold on to players for far longer than he does, ala Djemba Djemba, Kleberson etc

Those two had never proved themselves in the Prem before they were bought though, Berba was already known to be a class act with Spurs and started brightly at United only to flop
Constipated People Don't Give A crap.

Nice to see a team from Liverpool with a respectable manager get to the final

:D He is not getting under your skin too?

I hear the Everton fans had a justice for the 96 banner - fair dues. United and Everton fans shown up well over the 20th anniversay.
I think there is no doubt about that particularly when one remembers how Liverpool & Leeds fans treated the 50th Munich Anniversary and also the death of George Best

Eh  ???

Sir Alex Ferguson is ready for the next twists in the title race as United and rivals Liverpool get set for their first league games since Easter Saturday.

A lot has happened since the champions claimed what the boss considers an "important victory at Sunderland" - United have reached one semi-final and lost another on penalties while the Merseysiders' campaigns have been cut to one after a thrilling exit from Europe.

Now the two great rivals will get back to the bread and butter of the Barclays Premier League, with Sir Alex's leaders taking on Portsmouth at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, 24 hours after the second-placed side face Arsenal at Anfield.

"We did our analysis of the semi-final on the train back last night and now we move on to Wednesday, it's a big game for us," said Sir Alex in today's brief press conference.

"We've got seven league games left to play and I hope we win them all."

The only piece of team news was to reiterate that "Wayne will be okay for Wednesday", as reported on ManUtd.com yesterday.

As for Tuesday's match, the boss has no issue with Liverpool playing first again - for the third round of league fixtures in a row - and dismissed any notion that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger may rest players, given the Champions League now looks his sole target.

"Arsene is a winner," said Sir Alex. "I don't expect him not to try."

From BBC... Ferguson said his worries over the pitch were the reason why he fielded a weakened Manchester United team, who were beaten by Everton in a penalty shoot-out on Sunday.

He is so full of sh*t... nothing to do with thinking the reserves would beat Everton  ::)

Thought this was strange myself as some of the team didnt even seem to travel down to Wembley

The FA Cup was 3rd on the list of priorities anyway

He wouldn't have fielded that side against Chelsea... arrogance.
