Having watched Cross all through the club championship. The following players in my opinion should be included in the armagh senior panel:

Paul Hearty
Paul Kernan
Paul McKeown
Brendan McKeown
Aaron Kernan
David McKenna
Mickey McNamee
Stephen Kernan and
Maybe Tony Kernan for Frees

Francie ???

Francie surely Shortso.

Can't argue with the majority of that, still not convinced by Skinny though. The rest deserve their place on the panel and I suppose Skinny deserves his place to prove me wrong.

Of course Francie - but he has to decide whether he's coming back to the County or not.

Laois first goal would not have happened if Francie or C McKeever were on the field

That's neither here not there, very well could of happened for all you know. You never know what would of happened.

Oh right I thought you were questioning whether or not he should be included.

Goats Do Shave

Francie could have more use to us in the half back line!

Is JP mone injured for Monaghan at the min or is he out of the picture? Could be wrong but dont think he played in the last 2 league games.

If i was to pick a likely winner of this game I would prob have to go with the Monaghan men. Armagh looked very shakey against laois and monaghan seem to be a more settled outfit. Armagh are missing the Cross men, and although only a couple would be definite starters, others would strengthen an inexperienced and pretty weak looking bench. But It will be very tight and really could go either way. Would expect Monaghan to bring a decent crowd to the game with it being near hand and against their neighbours.
I agree that another home loss at this stage would almost certainly signal the end of Armaghs promotion hopes.
If it moves hit it
If it doesnt hit it anyway!!

would definitely play both mc keowns for armagh, and thought aaron kerna and mc kenna are certaintys for the championship,at the moment armagh are missing about 8 players i could see  close to the starting line up starting against tyrone, thats why i think monaghan will sneak it
donaghy, toner, toal,A kernan, mc kenna, both mc keowns  and mc grane

I'd have high hopes for McKenna this year too. would love to see him nailing down a wing forward spot. that said, he has a lot of proving to do to do so. he looked well short last year and that was after a massive year for cross. the two McKeowns? skinny wouldn't even be close in my book but you never know. paul certainly has the makings of hell of a corner back but again is a long way back to be in contention for playing championship football. the difference between club and county football is massive. i'd rate paul kernan better than McKeown at this moment and i can't see him starting for armagh either.

JP is out and probably will be for most of the NFL. A very solid full-back in the last few years. Vinney Corey looks a wee bit shaky in his place but has done well. Undoubtedly better further out the field though.. McGuigan is a class act and will flourish with game time for Monaghan in the HF line IMHO. Downey is fresh but a good prospect. McManus is the play-maker at the moment and alot goes through him.. This one will not be for the faint hearted and don't let any Monaghan person tell you that they won't be up for this one, that's bullshit. It's Armagh and Monaghan never need motivating against Armagh. It's a very healthy rivarly for us though, more so than Fermanagh/Tyrone/Cavan. Last year was down to the wire and it could have went either way then too.. Monaghan 'just' held their nerve to pip Armagh at the post. I'm not sure how big an advantage the Athlectic Grounds will be for Armagh though they're sure to be determined to a) get a win there and b) right the wrongs from the last outing..

It is certainly going to be an interesting match.

I was never too sure about McKenna but he certianly is playing some stuff and hope he gets a run now to prove his worth.

Hard to call a team for this one.

club and underage county performances get you onto a county panel. Senior Intercounty performances get you your place on a team

francie would disagree!

exceptions to every rule bc but thats genearrly a truism. francie the half back, as he always was when not picked for armagh, would never have made it at county level...

INDIANA

Dublin are playing monaghan tomorrow night in a challenge at 8pm in iniskeen.

Bit of a weird comment. Did Francie not play a lot of league football in 02? If so GAA's point would stand.

With a couple of our midfielders faultering and McKenna improving all the time, he has a real window here to nail down a starting berth. Hopefully he gets a couple of games on the trot.

Was extremely impressed wuth his showing there on Saturday, as I have in most of Cross' (is that right?) matches this year, definitely worth a go...

Would him and Vernon be too attack minded to work together you think?? I am thinking of the future before I get shouted at for ousting McGrane...
