Heff - Plunkets to win on monday ?
will be hard stopped.

Dya mean tonight??

Hard one to call, especially with the weather. I'd say Crokes are marginally the bigger team, so the conditions might suit them more.

Would like to see Plunketts win it alright.

jeez tonight ?
I thought it was on bank holiday monday like last year for some reason.

Dunno , might be hard to listen to the neighbours if they won !

crokes are bigger but not as tough and aggressive for the ball as the plunketts side would naturally be.
eg the likes of mcbarron is a pussycat for the size of him.

He would never have struck me as the yellow type.

I seen him ship (and give out) some very big hits and get back up and play - especially in the Cork games in the late 80's and games against Dublin.

I never seen him play club football, so can't comment on LB's point..

Wasn't there something in Hayes' book (I stand to be corrected) about Mick Lyins knocking O'Rourke's teeth out in a club match and after O'Rourke had had them repaired, Lyons went about knocking the crowns out too the next time they come up against each other in club action. I might have the personnel wrong, but pretty sure it was O'Rourke and Lyons.

Nobody is going to take this seriously - but Meath should ask John Maughan, could do and are probably about to do a lot worse.

that is one good laugh, thanks for that! imagine John Maughan as Meath Manager, just say it aloud I DONT THINK SO!
Dont think Hayes is the man either. Was anyone listening to newstalk last night? Bernard Flynn on. Disgusted with the whole saga. He didnt exactly favour Hayes either, though very diplomatic about it. He referred to Sean Kelly, I think he is the man we need....

Louth Exile

Sure why doesn't wee Bernie throw his own hat in the ring, he wouldn't be missed from the Sunday Game anyway!!

someone as yellow as O'Rourke!

Nonsense.
while I wouldnt say he was yellow, but he certainly didnt like getting hit and wasnt a man for fighting
he's a level or two above brolly in the yellow streak stakes !

I'd also like to see either mcEntee or Nelson.

Barry could have been good but too many clashes now to have him back. Maybe in the future again... 5 - 10 years time

Start a campaign to get him in

The following have been put forward by the clubs for nomination:

Colm O'Rourke - who will most likely decline 2nd time of asking
Liam Hayes
Eamon Barry
Dudley Farrell
Sean Kelly
Andy McAntee
Damian Sheridan Snr
Eamon O'Brien
Tommy Smith - Longford native; Coached Dublin clubs St. Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh & Fingallians
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

Croí na hÉireann

Hasn't been nominated.

Actually he wasn't the last time either was he?

After watching the match this am you'd have to reconsider the Dunboyne Herbalist ... ..... he still has it

IF Ireland win the 2nd test he will be approached again

NEW MANAGER TO BE ANNOUNCED MONDAY NIGHT 10th NOV!

Sean Kelly and Eamonn O'Brien are probably the most likely candidates though I hear Sean Kelly didnt do a 2nd interview with the new selection commitee.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

News from LMFM that Mattie McCabe and Mickey McQuillan have been interviewed as a dual management team.

Matty's stock is not too high in Ardee, his current assignment, by one account here at least. I think Mickey did fairly well with Newtown Blues?

his holiness nb

Is Mickey in charge of Stamullen now?
Ask me holy bollix

Hardy

Last I heard - yes. That was in the summer.
