wots this about terry being a racist

i remember something alrite but can anyone shed a bit of light on it?

My memory is a bit hazy on the incident but this is what I remember, anyone feel free to correct me.

About 1 and a half or 2 years ago Chelsea were playing Spurs and Terry is supposed to have mouthed something to ledley king who he had just fouled.

It was supposed to have been along the lines of "shut-up you lippy black monkey" allegedly.

Next thing King went mad and other black players like Defoe could be seen up in arms over it. Also Drogba and Makalele I think who were behind Terry backing him up also show a swift change of attitude and walk away from Terry.

Graeme Poll sends Terry off for what seems to the onlooker 'nothing'. Edit: I think his referee report would later say it was for "unsportsman-like conduct".

There is a huge cover-up and it is never got to the bottom of.

Also conspiracy theorists would go further and say that Terry's subsequent injury for a few weeks afterwards was Mourihnos way of keeping his head down and keeping him out of the spotlight.

It is worth mentioning that any word of this anywhere on the internet seemed to be regularly repressed. All youtube footage of the incident was taken off (although I think they do that anyway). But basically the biggest scandal is that the British press knew about it and wouldn't dare investigate it due to him being England captain at the time.

If that is the case doire na raithe, then it is dispicable. Bad enough the act, but the cover-up by Chelsea, the media and the FA.

I nearly don't believe it happened because I wonder could it really have been covered up that much?

But I do remember seeing the incident and watching it repeatedly, you couldn't lip read but it was obvious that there was a sharp reaction from all the black players involved, noones actions were more clearer than Drogba and Makalele's. And the question would also have to be raised, why did he get sent-off? This was never answered properly.

Surely someone else can remember this or has heard more about this somewhere and can either offer an explanation or support the alleged events?

It was Chimbonda, not King I think. Heard today that Ferdinand said in his autobiography that there was a known racist in the England squad...

Yes it may have been Chimbonda and then King was up in Terry's face over it I think, either way both of them were involved.

Doire na Raithe - I remember it exactly as you say it. The comment was directed at Ledley King and Chimbonda went nuts. Like yourself I almost believe its an urban myth because wonder how they could cover it up so cleanly.

you could be right there mickey.  but i think in those situations the last penalty taker is hoping it doesn't get that far.

as for the whole ledley king incident,  i never heard a word of that til now, if it is true then terry deserves all he gets!!  never liked him anway!

Honestly cannot see it, as much as I want to. As for Tevez feeling his neck - if some of these footballers were breathed upon, they'd feel themselves for blood.

Like, I often wonder, all the British press aren't gutter-rags, surely a respectable paprer like maybe the Guardian could have went after this. But I suppose there are two issues, the aspect of proving such an allegation and then the prospect of extreme unpopularity for pushing such  story.
