heard it on good authority on thursday evening that the Irish league game on sat between Armagh and glenavon was fixed. I went straight away and put as much as I could on it :) , By Friday the bookies had suspended betting on this match. The game finished 5-0 to Glenavon. One of the goals an o.g.
A couple of years ago I heard the same thing, once again about Armagh City, on that occassion it finished 7-1 again one of the goals an o.g.

This has to be one of the most corrupt leagues in the world and its great :D

but you wont hear anything about it on TV or in the norn iron media.

Heard the Scottish lower leagues have a lot of this going on as well. Still surprised the bookies would even touch Irish league games especially as its pretty common knowledge that fixing goes on on a regular basis.

Im just gutted that i didnt have any money on it myself. Tried to do it yesterday but stanjames and few others had it off the coupon.

I know of a fella that had £300 on his team to lose a provincial GAA final he was playing in, and they did.........So lets not kid ourselves it is just exclusively Irish League Football.

Further to this, I have heard on good authority that Glenavon, Limavady and Donegal Celtic were all 'certs' to win today and all duly did.

A joke of a league, shambolic to the core.

Its more to do with matches that are mainly made up of part time players and bookies are giving prices so its always gonna be open to abuse.

So we know its going to happen and accept it?  I am only annoyed that I was not informed of this scam earlier, seems the treble paid out 13 or 14/1

Also agree with earlier poster, the media up here will ignore this.

"Ah the IFA"? ???

Certainly were strong rumours about this game. Though there's unlikely to have been any money made on it in the end, given that those bookies who did take bets declared them void.

Not quite mw
There was over £20k staked on Glenavon v Armagh on betfair & it wasnt declared void

But then again if the IFA's head is in the sand they wont know that ;)

A couple of weeks ago I 'joked' with a boy I work with who is a regular at Mourneview to start backing Glenavon everyweek and that he would be rewarded in heaven.  Near p*ssed myself when I saw the score yesterday.

Stew.  FFS!  The IFA this and that....wise up.

Absolutley no doubt that this should be investigated.

Chris, should the IFA be held accountable to clean up it's act or not, every year there are fixed games in this poxy league and nothing gets done to fix the issues.

I thought you would have the wit to realize that the domestic clubs fall under the IFA's umbrella and as such they are responsible for this ridiculous situation given their apathetic attitude towards the issue.

The IFA have corrupt teams, corrupt players and have a mickey mouse, lame arsed initiative called football for all that is a complete joke, their so called national team cant quit fighting among one another and their fans get arrested on away trips.

Meanwhile at the ranch sectarianism has raised it's ugly head again and as usual the fenians get the short end of the stick, oh, one last thing, now the f**king neo nazis are big fans of northern domestic teams with a large loyalist following, FFA as long as you are a billy bhoy or a nazi!

Why in the name of jaysus do they fix games for such ridiculous scorelines like 5-0 and 7-1. Surely its a bit of overkill and 1 or 2 nil would look less suspicious?!
As I dream about movies they won't make of me when I'm dead
