I dont think Liverpool can afford to carry Wirtz much longer. The midfield area is crying out for more athleticism, aggression, and defensive cover.

Unfortunately the only position i would consider playing Wirtz in right now would be as a false 9. And with the purchases of Isak and Ekiteke, Liverpool wont be going with a false 9 for the foreseeable

They might have too this weekend! Though think that a high tempo will suit Koumas who will run all day. Need Barcola to announce himself this weekend. Should be atmosphere like a classic European night given the opposition and what's went on over international break.

Game set and match you'd feel now. Thought Liverpool were excellent up until the sending off, especially considering they are missing their best 3 players of the season so far.

Right back a serious issue. All 3 goals came from there.

Sending off, which was extremely harsh, changed it. After that, it was inevitable City would win it given the relative strength of the teams out there.

Yeah disappointing result indeed. Played excellent for 60 odd minutes until the bizarre sending off.

If we can play like that for the rest of the season we should be ok, top 4 is the goal this season.

A shame the 3 players who were missing have been our best 3 of the season so far and who knows what a difference they could have made.
