Unfortunately not the idiot we wished he was. Still a complete arsehole mind you.

Yes who is behind him is the question. He is basically a professional agitator and in terms of what he has done here I would say he couldn't in all his wildest dreams have imagined being so successful here.

Dangerous enough on his own agitating non-stop online, but is even more dangerous now he is obviously being backed financially.

Definitely some digging required into the financials

Behind him or lying down beside him?

Bryson is dangerous. Smarter than everyone gives him credit for.

I mean he started out at the flag protests and was standing outside the court wearing a union jack jumpsuit. Fraser was dressed as a muslin cleric iirc. Very strange.

Somebody else must be tweeting for him as he always seems to be putting out a lot of tweets every day. Surely he couldn't do all that? He's constantly on the media. Was he on Nolan every day this week?

I think a lot of unionists are embarrassed by his latest stunt in Drumcree. But I think unionism has definately lost it's way so badly this last few years that he's slipped in to fill the void.

He definately must have something on Nolan.

Who funds him? Imagine checking the messages on his phone. You'd see who's pulling the strings.

The Nolan - Bryson - TUV BBC nexus must be hammered and investigated fully. Hopefully this will give that a push.

Saw a breakdown of appearances and its akin to astroturfing.

Unfortunately a lot of people get excited by this stuff rather than dealing with Lough Neagh being a toxic waste dump.

DUP being lead by Jamie Bryson is a really bad for unionism or maybe it's ok. I don't know what to think.

I can't see Bryson being the brains behind this, unless he's done a keyezer soze level of deception and acted the clown prior.

I've been of this same opinion lately. Up until last week he had been a serial looser at everything he touched. Now all this craic about how he pulled one over on Nationalists. Someone else is pulling the strings and Jamie is just a puppet. Long overdue journalists started digging deeper into his affairs and where the money for all these legal challenges is coming from. It all stinks to the high heaven's.

Agreed.
First thing that I find strange  Angry Jim's party contested  every Westminster seat at the last general election EXCEPT, ( go on have a guess !!) Upper Bann.
To my mind Carla  would be much more at home in the TUV than she is on the DUP, but she can't jump ship and split the vote, nor can Jim stand anyone against her.

Upper Bann is an odd constituency too.Like a little Unionist outpost surrounded by SF and Alliance.
A constituency that is changing too.
Massive new build happening in what was Craigavon.
Huge build in the "Catholic" side of Lurgan ( see rise of Clann Eiran) so an overall unionist majority right now but that may change in the near future. Huge no's of migrants too.
My guess is the constituency is 1 boundary change away from being 50/50.

For Carla ( and the entire DUP) they have to run to the (hard line) base all the time in this constituency.

All that said I think Angry Jim and some of the wiser heads ( from their perspective) in the DUP are pulling the strings together ( a Pan Unionist Front if you will) but can't be seen to be indulging in it, so use Jamie as a patsy.

Also wonder what the request to Justy to stand here by the SDLP was all about.
Do they think they could get SF to not stand if they had a viable candidate to unseat Lockhart???
I can't see it but stranger things have happened.

Quote from: Baile Brigín 2 on September 30, 2026, 11:33:14 AMA law degree isn't that difficult to achieve, and fair play to him.

But a law degree doesn't make you a lawyer.

Isn't?

Yes, a law degree is widely considered very hard because of the heavy reading volume, complex reasoning, and intense competition.
Main Challenges of Studying Law
• Massive Reading Lists: You must read hundreds of pages of dense case law, statutes, and academic commentary every week.
• Complex Material: Law is non-intuitive. You cannot just memorize facts; you have to learn how to apply strict legal logic to new, messy situations.
• High Competition: Many law programs grade students on a strict curve, meaning top marks are hard to earn compared to other subjects.
• Independent Work: You spend many hours studying alone in the library to digest complex legal principles.
Let's rephrase slightly. It is *easier* to get a law degree, amongst others, than to pass the bar or equivalent.

I'm not saying it's a cakewalk or anyone can do it. But you wouldn't pay a law graduate for advice over a solicitor or barrister for a reason.

The same way I wouldn't have an apprentice plumber put gas into my home.. Professional exams come in most subjects after the degree

Whether Jamie did his on his own or someone took his crayons off him and did it he's proved to be a thorn in most and from his perspective is loving the limelight

He's a super prod and makes no bones about it either and why should he? Plenty of agitators grifters on both sides looking coin and notoriety.

Had he been born up the Falls, I've no doubt he'd be doing the same for the taigs

To be fair to Jamie. I've seen him in court and in football appeals on a number of occasions. He is a very accomplished legal advocate particularly for someone with no formal legal training.

As to whether a law degree is difficult to obtain I'll make no comment other than to say I have 3.
