UEFA would likely just award two 3-0 victories to Israel and a €10,000 fine to FAI, based on precedent. Ireland would still have two routes to Euro 26, via direct qualifying and an automatic spot if 2 of Eng/Sco/Wales qualify. The nations league at best gets you a playoff spot. Indeed you'd be better demoted to get an easier playoff for next world cup by winning Tier 3 group next time.

Fair few. When Kosovo refused to finish Romania game after pro-Serbia chants. Uefa awarded Romania a 3-0 win.

If that's  the likely punishment, then don't play it.

The only thing is  the Zionists will use it  to further   label Ireland anti Semitic.

I know Eurovision is a different ball game altogether, but  the  more countries  that boycott it (4 or 5 did last year), the louder the message. Yes it's only a Mickey mouse singing competition, but it's the  principle of the thing.

With  the UEFA competitions, there'll only be 3  in  Israel's group,  and  the odds of getting 3 countries (eg. Spain, Netherlands, Iceland etc) with strong opposition to their participation,  it leaves Ireland out on a limb.

I still reckon if the matches do go ahead , there'll be false anti- Semitic  allegations thrown about afterwards.

But they took to the field.

Walking off in protest is a whole different kettle of gravy to refusing to play a game.

Exactly. A fine and no points still leaves us likely to stay up. The FAI would take that all day long.

But the whole damn point is other teams will go 'sounds like a good deal' so UEFA will nip it in the bud by coming down with hellfire.

The Eurovision is very important for Israel. It's culture washing. It projects the image of a normal country instead of Nazis.

What the Israelis are afraid of is isolation and pariah status.

The Eurovision is a sign of Zionist power. They know they will be backed by the Germans and the Dutch and the Eastern European far right. This is why there is no accountability.

UEFA and the other sports orgs like basketball are the same. They are all staffed by Germans like von der leyen and Hungarians and Dutch. Nobody will make the first move. Everybody is afraid of rocking the boat. UEFA is vindictive.

Unless something happens on Sunday It might take another 5 or 10 years before something happens on the sports front. In politics Merz and Macron and Von der Leyen and Kallas will have to retire before things change.

It could be the next time we play them that something happens

"A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it." -- Max Planck

Israel uses European sport to sportswash and pretend it is a normal country.

It shouldn't even be in UEFA or the Eurovision. The Arabs know they are whining sadistic nazi c***ts. Israel was expelled from the Asian Football League in 1974.

Typical of the lack of imagination at the FAI that they couldn't think of fudge to barely pacify UEFA whilst still making it clear that the Irish men's team refuse to play Israel whilst the commit genocide and ethnic displacement. Their comments this week about "oh we couldn't do without the money" were particularly disgusting. They're a stain on the Irish nation but that's nothing new.
So the same logic the GAA used about Allianz?

Worst case, and possible, is UEFA ban all Irish teams from international competition for 2 years. That is no Irish teams playing any games. That is LoI clubs out of Europe. Mass redundancies, the development of the game hugely hit. While principles cost, the FAI have a duty of care to the gane too.
But it could be a lot less than that. And with the way the last week or two has went UEFA would be very aware that there's the potential for even more boycotts. That the sentiment around this genocide is a lot stronger than people would have thought. UEFA don't want to be in a position of having to ban Spain cause they've previously banned Ireland.
Do you think the FAI would be going through this over a fine? Of course UEFA have clearly laid out the consequences and the FAI have made their call based on that.

Spain haven't stepped up. Nobody has. This notion that UEFA will frop it because a ban will be unpopular is very naive.
You have no idea what they will do. And I have very little faith in the FAI doing the right thing, so yes I believe they have no idea of what UEFA would do and just want to avoid any risk. They're just too scared or indifference to make the right call on it.

We know what they CAN do...

Are you seriously suggesting the FAI haven't spoken to UEFA?

Scared, definitely. Indifferent, get real.
Not prepared to take the risk then if your unhappy with indifferent. Or unprincipled. Take your pick. Making the wrong decision anyway. Alienating some of your support is never a smart move long term.

So, one team  gets a 10k fine for refusing to play  the likes of Belarus  , and another team gets a more severe  punishment  for refusing  to play Israel?

We know the answer, but  surely  UEFA's whole system is  bollix if this is  the case

As opposed to potentially alienating them all by having to shutter LR for two years?

It's easy to hurl from the ditch, but the FAI have a duty of care to their game, first and foremost.

Nobody is happy with anything here, but it's easy for Gaels to want a rival sport to slit it's own throat

Last line says it all. You're just not happy a few "Gaels" are having a go at the FAI. It's possible to like both GAA and soccer. In fact I'd say the majority of gaa members would be at least passive soccer fans. It could just be a case that some people believe the FAI are totally in the wrong here.
