Of course always two sides to things, but Bannigan is pissed off and rightly so. Fair play to him for speaking his mind but noise like this rarely tends to benefit the team.

He says 2 older players wanted change and went to the county board and he had a load of lads ringing him after he was pushed out saying we didn't know we needed to go to the county board in support of you, if we had known then we would have 100%.

North Leitrim club Melvin Gaels have appointed Sligo ladies footballer Nicola Brennan as the manager of their intermediate men's team.

The Sligo woman has a decorated football career, winning Connacht medals at inter-county, club, and college level.

In taking the role, Brennan is believed to be the first woman to manage a senior men's football team at club or intercounty level.

The Tourlestrane woman will see the Gaels through the remainder of their intermediate championship campaign following the departure of their management earlier this week.
