Tbf they came out second best to Donaghmore last year in the game of the championship ( 3 wides total that day.)
Today on the other-hand they threw it away. Trillick were poor overall and missed a bagfull. Individual performances by the brennans is what got them over the line.
Gabally no.15 had two opportunities from dead-ball to take it through and fluffed them. Ultimately cant be making those errors if you're serious contenders.
Just cant put my finger on it. Their inside three as good as any in the county and very strong and well rehearsed midfield. Are they just missing that top cut player to dictate a game for them? I fear they've very little time to figure it out before this golden crop of players becomes irrelevant.

What is their record in senior championship the past while? I remember a win v Pomeroy one year but can't think of any others. That is a sickener yesterday in fairness to them, big underdogs and looking so good with 15 left, be a hard one to take. The highlights on Tyrone GAA Youtube that last free in for Trillick looked like a very light hand on the back more than a push
Was the pomeroy win not in intermediate? In killyclogher?

They're just missing that bit of control that the other teams have. Don't know how many times yesterday they kicked an aimless ball in instead of working it around and composing themselves. Seems like if they don't get a scoring chance within 30 seconds of getting the ball they just try to force it

Its funny, if they had have held out and won we would be crediting their route one early ball strategy.
But yes, i think Trillick figured this out and curtailed it and Gabally just didn't have an effective plan B.
No10 was a great target man and outlet from the back for Gabally but couldn't and wouldnt shoot unfortunately

Went back 20 years and only games that can see a Galbally win in the SFC are Kildress 2009, Greencastle 2010 and Pomeroy 2018.  They beat Pomeroy as well in 2019 IFC Final. Bear in mind though they were in Intermediate from 2011-2015 and 2019 and 2022. Interestingly they were very nearly relegated to Junior in 2012.

WT4E

1 win in 9 years of senior champo. Since 2016

Did he say that when Coalisland No.10 got emptied. Unfortunately we are not blessed with great commentators on Tyrone TV and then you have Jet Tracey who seems to list everyone age and occupation everytime they are on the ball

You can toggle through tbe years under top scorer but it only goes back to 2017.

A lot of these reports will have the results too but some years dont have them. I think 2016 needed a plain old fashioned Google search.

Might have been when the 7 was emptied as well. His word of the day was 'intriguing'. I think he said it 5 times before throw in.

Thought ref bottle a few decisions. Skeet frontal challenge right before half time, no card. No 10 for clonoe on a yellow again another frontal challenge, free and no card.

tyroneStatto

Around the 12th minute a stonewall free should have been given to Eglish in front of the goals. Donaghmore went and got a point immediately after. Even the commentators were laughing about it.

Likely was a 2nd yellow for McClure. Big moment in the match.

Hampsey should have had a black card when he come on as well though. Took Declan McClure out after he passed the ball. It was about his only contribution.

Sean Coyle

I usually like eannatta but he had no stones today. Fintan McClure should've been gone with 15 minutes to go, and then he absolutely bossed the last 15 mins. He give him a yellow for the exact same challenge moments before.

Added to the fact that Mickey fumbles decided to throw digs at the coalisland 12 and got away with only a yellow.

This cost the fianna big time today in my opinion.
