Surprised they went through so easily especially given the discontent over the 2 point arc and the kickout rules especially now in the midst of Club Championship.

The slight change about breaking the line from a sideline ball is funny cause loads of refs were getting that wrong as it was

Why are you surprised?

FRC was put in place by HQ with lots of time and money put in.  Any debate wasn't expected as Congress have been convinced everything is hunky dory.

More rules changes on the way?

The proposals come from the Gaelic football Expert Advisory Group (EAG), a committee chaired by former Mayo manager Kevin McStay. The EAG's objective is to monitor and "polish" the game following the permanent rules implemented by Jim Gavin's Football Review Committee (FRC).

If successful during third-level trials, these newly proposed rules could be codified into the wider game by 2027.

The proposed trial rules include

:Four-Point Goals: Increasing the reward for a goal from three points to four points.

Ban on Fisted Points: Abolishing the ability to score a point using a fist, requiring players to strike cleanly with an open hand or kick the ball over the bar.

Handpass Limit: Implementing strict consecutive handpass restrictions to encourage more kick-passing.

13-Metre Kick-Outs: Forcing goalkeeper restarts to be taken from the 13-metre line rather than further out.

Back-Court' Rule: Introducing a tactical boundary restriction to penalise teams for recycling the ball backward across the halfway line once they have advanced into attack.

Kevin McStay has emphasised that the EAG's current scoping work represents a "tweaking" and "polishing" mechanism rather than another complete overhaul of the sport

Ban Fisted points, and 4 points for a goal, the rest of those proposed are a load of shite.

I'd add if you've a head injury then you have to go off for 30s-1 minute. Far to many feigning head injuries

Why ban fisted points but allow handpassed/thrown ones??
Both should be outlawed.
