Trillick very average league campaign hard to know what to expect from them but can never be ruled out. Carrickmore and Loughmacrory with massive first round games to get over, if they do the two of them could be hard stopped, I don't see Donaghmore or Killyclogher having enough just yet, could be a year for upsets everywhere the way it feels at the minute

Tattyreagh vs Brocagh – Tattyreagh should have too much for Brocagh. They hammered them in the league and, with a few key men back, I think this should be a fairly comfortable win. Tattyreagh by 10–15 points.

Errigal III vs Stewartstown – Stewartstown should be too strong for Errigal and should have enough quality to get the job done. Stewartstown by 8 points.

Fintona vs Drumragh – I think Drumragh will do the unthinkable and take down the favourites Fintona. It should be a very tight game, but I fancy Drumragh to cause the upset. Drumragh by 2 points.

Derrytresk vs Glenelly/Castlederg – When Glenelly beat Castlederg in the replay, they showed what they're capable of. However, I think the Mighty Men from the Hill will surprise everyone and beat Glenelly. Derrytresk will need to perform much better after a poor game against Killyman. Derrytresk to win.

Fintona is taking it for me. They have too much fire power and strength in youth for drumragh you would think.
Glenelly and the derg yesterday, left Greencastle gutted. We definitely left it behind us at the end and I'm sure castlederg may feel the same after a very positive first half. I'm almost sure we can win comfortably in the replay but derrytresk will be a tough one to call.

Both teams yesterday were as bad as each other. Castlederg blew their lead, and the game eventually descended into men trying to fight each other rather than playing football, which isn't what our game is about. Glenelly will also be disappointed with their performance they never really got going and allowed Castlederg to drag them into playing their type of football. On another day, Glenelly could easily have finished the game with 13 men, with two of their midfielders lucky not to see red.

Few observations from the Junior championship.

Thirds teams need to go into a preliminary round or not play the championship because it is actually not right putting lads through that. Errigal have a good side usually by championship but everything shouldn't be set up to accommodate them either.

Derrytresk nearly caught by Killyman but Gavin and McNally going off probably created the close game. Enda McGahan still a class act.

Errigal thirds could give Stewartstown a game but it's hard to fully judge them on Cookstown thirds who are dads and lads level.

The other two thirds teams (Omagh and donaghmore) should fold unless there's a thirds league. They can barely field most weeks and get single figures out to training at times.

Tattyreagh looked good. Think they could make a final with the right draw. Still think they haven't played a D3 team yet so hard to fully judge but have good momentum.

Fintona were at close to their very best v Eskra. I think how close their game was in the league really sharpened their focus. First half was very competitive but took over in the third quarter. Colton was exceptional and McGillion is a handful. However, Eskra losing 3 players from the Augher game has to be took into consideration not to go overboard with praise but a really mature performance from a lot of young players.

Glenelly should come through the replay but they are very Jekyll and Hyde. They lack the consistency of a Fintona but I'd fancy them to get to the semi still.

Drumragh I think if they get their best on the field v Fintona can give them a great game but they'll need Eoin Montgomery and Daniel O'Neill back to do it.

Final 4 I think will be Tattyreagh, Stewartstown, Fintona and Glenelly.

Derrytresk's next outing likely to be their last of 2026. The subject of thirds teams has already been been discussed. EC are the longest running 3rds team and have been fairly competitive the remaining thirds teams if they play honest thirds are not good enough for Junior football and scorelines like Stewartstown v Omagh 3 do nothing to promote to help stewartstown or Omagh. If more clubs entered 3rds teams who were essentially recreational teams with its own championship that would ideally work for thirds teams who clearly can't cut it at Junior level.
