That doesn't matter.

That's not the rule.
Rule states that from set play an attacking player cannot enter the square before the ball.
There is nothing in the rules about touching the ball.
Correct decision.

It didn't and is actually irrelevant if it did or not. The Kerry forward was attempting to get to the ball and was in the square before the ball. Square ball.

A player can be in the square distracting a player or contesting the ball, doesnt have to touch it, to be a square ball, least that the way it was when i played. Not the day or yesterday right enough.

Quote from: Wildweasel74 on August 02, 2026, 05:39:32 PMKerry corner forward standing in the square before the ball kicked in, silly, ball ended up in the net too. When Galway win it last?

Goal probably should have stood.

It doesn't matter whether she was inside when the ball was kicked or not.Its whether she was in the square before the ball arrived into the square that matters.
And she clearly was so it was a correct decision.

Said it many times, square ball is impossible to adjudicate when it's tight and should be got rid of.  Causes more rows than it solves.  That said, today's was straight forward.
Well done to Antrim, thought they were going to kick themselves out of it.  Entertaining open game.

TG4 showed it but the ball had left the girl's foot by about 5ft and the girl moved into suare.

But when kicked, she was outside.

This is irrelevant. From a free, attacking players cannot enter the square before the ball.

So if a free in a game have everyone on top of keeper? That's messy. The amount of comments I see online of people saying why can't there be one square ball rule like men's football. It's the exact same.

Adjudication is only half the issue. The bigger problem, as repeatedly evidenced on this board, is that many, many people are proudly and completely ignorant of the actual rule.

What's so special about the keeper?
