It was mentioned recently about Louth's build. I know people have commented that there are significant differences between the two but it's difficult to understand (for me, anyway) how Louth are aiming to deliver a 14,000 capacity stadium for around £20 million and at the same time there is talk of scaling Casement back to a capacity which isn't a boot in the balls away from that even though there is more than 10 times the money available.
I know 10 times the money will not get you 10 times the capacity but you're bate for double the capacity? Somebody make it make sense.

I think Louth will be more in €30m range in the end. However, twice the capacity for four times the cost should be achievable. Antrim could learn from Louth, the latter were a bit of a joke for many years, but they have both sorted their infrastructure and made their teams competitive at the same time. Fair play to them.

Check it out. Completed 2023 for 136 million pounds, 34000 capacity, 22000 seats 12000 standing. Is this not exactly the sort of thing they need/want now there is no need for all the shite associated with UEFA standards. Obviously the pitch dimensions are different and will affect the build/cost but surely to f**k this is what we are talking about for the money available.

Liverpool spent £114m on the new main stand (10 years ago, but it is state of the art) and more recently £100m on the new anfield road stand.
Can anyone explain to me why this sort of efficiency can't be replicated in Casement?

One of the Roddy's from Ballycastle worked with Buckingham Group as Project Director on the Anfield upgrade and they were attached to Casement at one stage. They are now defunct, but whoever takes on the next phase would do worse than talk to him.

In a new LucidTalk poll for the Belfast Telegraph, two-thirds of all voters say the revision of the plans for the stadium in west Belfast (right) — which will see a much smaller capacity than the previously-planned 34,000 seats — represents a significant setback for Michelle O'Neill's party.
That view is shared across the political divide with 82pc of SDLP; 81pc of DUP; 78pc of UUP; 70pc of TUV and 52pc of Alliance voters also believing that it's a serious political blow for Sinn Féin.
Young people are the most likely to see the reported downscaling of the project as a big political failure for the party, with 73pc of those aged 18-34 holding that view.
Men are also more likely to judge the party harshly over Casement, with 73pc compared to 53pc of women believing it has failed on the issue.
The findings come after the LucidTalk poll suggested that Sinn Féin has fallen to a new five-year poll low, dropping to 22pc — which is two points down on April and seven points down on its 2022 Assembly election performance.
