Anyone giving Galway a sniff of a chance tomorrow?

This Limerick don't lose finals (other than penalties) and are a fantastic team who are probably at the other side of their peak but only just.

Galway come into this with a bit of good form from their last 2 Croke Park outings and with a tried and tested game plan that Cork couldn't break through.

Limerick are a different beast to Cork and aren't reliant on getting balls into their full forward line to get scores and like Galway will take shots from way out the field. Galway could afford to push out a bit more v Limerick but they won't at first to get a foothold in the game.
Who they put out on Hegarty for puck outs may be key to them stopping the Limerick team from clicking.
For Galway to succeed they will need to keep firing over a very high percentage of their shots from the likes of Tom Monaghan etc and prevent the Limerick half forwards from dominating that area.

For me I'd give Galway a better chance of getting the win than I would have given Tipp winning last year and we know how that turned out.

I see Casey is in on the edge of square on young Rabbitte. Casey made a solid inmpact when he came on against Clare.  Actually both him and Lynch are in so Kiely going on performances and his usual 'next man up' philosophy. Casey will be edgy on Rabbitte but the young Athenry lad can take it any way. He'll enjoy Casey's physical battles.


O'Donovan misses out. Strange that but hard to square the circle. You want and need a strong bench nowadays. O'Donovan's deliveries are excellent a lovely ball in front of Gillane or Casey etc. He knows what type of ball the forwards want and no doubt we'll see him in the second half.


Galway will need more than what they brought V Cork. Will they have it? Everyone will need to be on their game. I'd still be doubtful on Burke and his knee. Surely he can't be right? I think Limerick will expolit that situation big time.


I think Limerick will win and be crowned the great team every but they'll need Gillane to play well. He'll be disappointed in his own performances this year in the championship. He should come alive tomorrow.


Hopefully I'm wrong here but I'm sticking my neck out and I'm going for Limerick by 8 + points tomorrow.

First Limerick v Galway All-Ireland final since 2018, back then Galway was defending champions and Limerick hadn't won the All-Ireland since 1973.

Last eight All-Ireland titles won by Munster teams Limerick 5,Tipperary 2,Clare 1 and another Munster team Cork probably won the majority of those All-Ireland titles in their own heads only to lose them on the field.

Be nice to see a change from the Munster dominance, best hope for Galway tomorrow is that they play as well as they did in the semi final and that Limerick have a performance showing they are past their peak, afterall 11 of the Limerick starting 15 from 2018 are still around.

I think Galway have a chance. Limerick don't play for 70 minutes. Galway's shooting is high and they can work on accuracy. In the League game they were c 10 points down with 20 to go and outscored Limerick by 9 to 1 to finish 2 behind. They have great energy.

Always thought he had unfinished business with the Déise.

A huge task for our lads today.  Will require above what we produced against Cork and Limerick have steel and class in abundance.  We are there on merit and not without a chance but an awful lot will need to fall for us I feel.  Safe travels to everyone agus Gaillimh abú 🇶🇦

As mentioned, they last met in the final in 2018.  Back then Galway had the veteran team looking for another title, while Limerick were the young team with something to prove.  Is this Galway's opportunity to turn the tables?

Should be interesting to see if Gillane makes up for a very average campaign with a big finish.

Jez, the design on the pitch is a dose, especially on a very bright sunny day. Makes the viewing of the game uncomfortable.

Poor enough game so far, and ref definitely not "letting it flow".
He seems to be playing advantage or else deciding to give frees based on crowd reaction!
