69th minute Mayo V Kerry in the AI final.

Kerry up by 1 point. D Clifford somehow wins a kickout with a freakish jump but as hes about to pass its robbed by an outstretched pinky belonging to 68th min sub Aidy O'Shea,  who feeds it to a full speed Paddy Durcan[62nd min sub]. Paddy gets emptied by Joe O'Connor who is bound to get a second yellow now...

Ref plays advantage, ROD soccer style chips it to Kobe who has found space on the wing well outside the arc who catches it sweetly...

Crystal ball has no more sadly.

Clifford's free then for tackling a man who took a mark :D

Would read very little into today's performance as good as it was.  Mayo not operating on Kerry's level. If Dublin beat Kerry then it's up for grabs.
That's just, like your opinion man.

Some serious quality up front and Conroy off the bench is electric but Clifford will get about 2-12 against their defence, midfield doesn't stack up to Kerry either. (Assuming they win tomorrow which is far from a certainty)

Will suit Mayo to be underdogs and I'd obviously love them to prove me wrong and win the whole thing. If Dublin win tomorrow though all bets are off and the final could be a classic.

I just don't see how anyone can underestimate Mayo's defence. Donnacha McHugh has become the man marking central player you can build a defence around - except with Coyne, Callinan, Hession, McBrien, Mayo already had that defence in place and were waiting for him, rather than the other way around.

This is an unbelievably well balanced Mayo team, especially when Kobe / RoD switch around at 11 after Conroy comes on.

The big names going away have allowed solid unknowns to develop away from hype with no expectation plus you still have a core with experience esp bench.

Tommy Conroy looks like he needs to find form but v dangerous, he seems to have developed serious strength.

Loftus has looked super this year as well in periods. Matthew Ruane also useful guy to bring in. Andy is obsessive and ruthless, no better man.

See what tomorrow brings.

Lads Kerry are really over-hyped this year.

They will be beaten by Dublin or Mayo.

It'll be the main news story for every newspaper and media outlet - Kobe's last game before going to Australia.
Could be a repeat of R9 before the 98 World Cup Final.
No doubt lots of hype but father like son it will be nothing to him.

More importantly for me is how Kerry or Dublin mark Ryan O'Donoghue will have a telling factor for the final.  He's the main Mayo player to keep tabs on,  somewhat underrated still when he's the main scorer, provider and one of the hardest working players in the country.

Felt sorry for Louth never turned up and looked a beaten docket devoid of any confidence once Mulroy kicked that two pointer free wide before half time.

And should Mayo find themselves in a winning position in this final go on and win the bloody thing and leave the silly excuses from the past behind.

Yeah today's performance has to be hugely asterisked against it given how bad Louth's overall performance were. Was a real wheels came off the cart level performance from them.

The performance that would have me concerned was the Cork game. Cork were rancid yet Mayo only beat them by 5 points and it was very late in the game before Mayo looked like they had the win secured. I just can't see the Mayo full forward line getting the same level of scores against either Dublin or Kerry.

seafoid

I heard on RTÉ that they had a lot of walking wounded.

They are not over hyped, they are underperforming to their potential.

Tyrone game will have helped spin up their flywheel. The big question mark is Seanie O Sheas fitness and readiness to hit his highest level. It was telling Jack had White on from start of that game. Both key leaders.

Really in bonus territory for Dublin today. Never expected a semi final. Would be great to see a solid performance that causes Kerry problems. But I still think Kerry will make light work here.
