Derry Meath and Tyrone Mayo hard to call and obviously you never know with Monaghan, Cavan a potential banana skin for Dublin if they can bring what the did in patches last week. Nice handy for Kerry again to get back up to speed...

Can't see Monaghan beating Roscommon.

Not so sure about that. Monaghan are sticky hoors,  home game and nothing to lose

I definitely wouldn't be ruling them out at this stage.

The only team I would be confident about having a less than 10% chance is Cork.
Would take some freakish performances to see them beating Donegal in Doneagl.

Warmed balls for sure lol

If Kerry were playing Kildare at home  and Dublin were playing Cavan at home those games would surely be handier?

Cork with the toughest draw - having to play Donegal away, good chance the crowd will be 90%+ Donegal supporters.

It will be interesting to see if there is much of a difference between the do-or-die games down the closing stretch versus the games with a 2nd chance.

Couldn't make it too obvious ;)
Donegal, Galway and Armagh probably all happy enough to avoid each other and the first 2 with a home draw. Cork are a funny team, could cause problems for Donegal but Donegal will have enough. Westmeath a dangerous team, some unreal forwards but looking at the damage Cavan did to them defensively Walsh and Finnerty will have a field day. Westmeath on basically a free hit though having another chance and having already exceeded all expectations for the year.

Louth a serious side with big men and Mulroy and Lennon are 2 of the best players in the country when they're on it. Probably man marking jobs for Joe McElroy and either McKay or Murphy.

Well Down did it so anything is possible! Expect McCole to lock down Sherlock and Cork to have no answers, something similar to when they play Kerry.

tonto1888

when will fixture details be confirmed?

Rossfan

That's Dublin and Kerry looked after as expected.
Tough enoigh one for us but the type of game you need to be winning to be an AI contender.
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

Orior

Back in the early 1970's I remember my Dad saying about Armagh "we couldn't even beat Louth". Different times now.

Only 5 of the games are to be televised with 2 on RTE and 3 on GAA+ so will be interesting to see what 3 games lose out.

The TV times will be a key factor on the fixture details.

Louth v Armagh will be where you reckon?  Newry would be a shout, maybe Navan, Louth's call.  What's the capacity of Inniskeen?

Mulroy plays alot deeper so I don't expect McKay or Murphy to track him.  I would personally put TK on him and put him on backfoot especially if Mulroy still carrying an injury.

That would make logistical sense and would be close to a sell out you would think.

cavanmaniac

Not unhappy with the draw, didn't want any other Ulster team and a home game so I'm content enough with that. A Dubs team, at home, that has lost to Westmeath and Louth pitches them not a million miles off our level, pressure's all on the opponent and we'll be heavy underdogs which is always a great refuge for the mentally frail team we are. Can't see us winning though. To do that we'd need to be about 7/8 up on 65 minutes, because anything less we'd probably crater under pressure and get reeled in, and although there were signs of life v Westmeath in some respects, the Dubs are a different kettle of fish. Hopefully we get some learnings and maybe leave the season with something to build on.

It won't be Drogheda or Navan as both are out of operation.

Beyond that it's tough to say as there will likely be some back room discussions.

What chance a Newbridge Ardee or nowhere campaign?

I think Monaghan Roscommon is a hard one to call.  Wouldn't rule out extra time. Would be interesting to see where the Roscommon camp is after the Tyrone loss.
