Get up out of that with your anglicised talk.

They're the Islas Malvinas.

Ok Jonny. Be cool 😄

He can't help it now that there's another Kilrea man playing for OWC.

🤣🤣 Good point well made

I hope he's learned the words to GSTK  ;)

QuoteNetherlands World Cup squad
Goalkeepers: Bart Verbruggen (Brighton), Mark Flekken (Bayer Leverkusen), Robin Roefs (Sunderland)

Defenders: Nathan Ake (Manchester City), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), Denzel Dumfries (Inter Milan), Jorrel Hato (Chelsea), Jan Paul van Hecke (Brighton & Hove Albion), Jurrien Timber (Arsenal), Micky van de Ven (Tottenham Hotspur)

Midfielders: Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool), Frenkie de Jong (Barcelona), Teun Koopmeiners (Juventus), Noah Lang (Galatasaray), Tijjani Reijnders (Manchester City), Marten de Roon (Atalanta), Guus Til (PSV), Quinten Timber (Marseille), Mats Wieffer (Brighton & Hove Albion)

Forwards: Brian Brobbey (Sunderland), Memphis Depay (Corinthians), Cody Gakpo (Liverpool), Justin Kluivert (Bournemouth), Donyell Malen (AS Roma), Crysencio Summerville (West Ham United), Wout Weghorst (Ajax.

Certainly the most underwhelming Dutch attack to go to a World Cup in my lifetime.
The Dutch attack  at the  2002 World Cup was a lot worse
Depay and Weghorst were two years younger at that stage and they had Simons available who would probably have started.
In 2002? :D
:) would need to read before typing!

Patrick Kluivert, Van Nistelrooy, Hasselbaink, Overmars and Roy Makaay worse than that lot?

The dutch of course were not at the 2002 world cup. We were there instead.

I'm completely lost about this Dutch thing. Not one bit of it makes any sense

An Watcher

They had one of the best forward lines in world football.  Dont forget about Pierre Van Hooijdonk either.  We had ROY

If only Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink had been fed cheese sandwiches like the men of Eire

The greatest trick the FAI ever pulled was convincing the world they didn't have a plan

Still the one that got away

rodney trotter

Hasselbaink got 27 Caps. He probaly would have had a lot more with other countries. They had some options in attack.

The Kluivert/Van Nistelrooy comparison is an interesting timeline

Born on the same day, Kluivert burst on the scene scoring in the CL final at 18 and leading the line for the Dutch in Euro 96 and France 98 while RVN was struggling to break through at provincial level as a midfielder

01/02 RVN was the coming man, by 03/04 Kluivert was washed up while Ruud got his runout for Real and an Indian summer in Germany

Aye something amiss the Dutch don't have any interesting forward players in the current setup

As for Italy, kinda fubar whats gone on there, their last WC game being 2014

Was there not something about Kluivert and a car crash back in the day?

Did he kill someone? (edit, he did when he was only 19 and got off with community service)

imtommygunn

I think there was another pretty big  scandal with him too IIRC.
