I think the draw is crucial for Kerry. I get the sense they'll be vulnerable in the next round but probably ok after that. The loser of Armagh/Derry is definitely the one to avoid for them.

Even at that, a trip to Clones, Croker, the Hyde or even Castlebar doesn't sound too appealing in a do or die game. Depends on how far away men are

Kerry always  beat Mayo. They'd beat Kildare too.

Roscommon or  Meath away  would be trickier for them

Any team with AI aspirations  will be looking at  who Kerry get.  The more big guns taken out,  the better . Kerry going out would leave  it wide open

The 3 year life cycle of this team is now coming to an end. You cant slog a team like mcguiness and rory gallagher and expect to maintain that intensity year after year game after game. Donegal kicked the ball 33% less than kerry In last years all ireland. Kerry kick Donegal dont and you wont win an all ireland if you dont kick the ball. Derry are in the same boat.

Whoever said that Rory Gallagher might have been the mastermind all along (especially considering how far Derry have fallen without him) was on to something.

DaleCooper

Maybe so but would imagine having an extra top class coach would help massively to tidy up things you may miss.

Meenagh played that role with Derry.

The only periods that Donegal have been  a force in the last 20 years - McGuinness has been involved.

Gallagher's no mastermind he's a brilliant motivator but tactically he isnt anywhere near the top in the country no otber manager would have played their goalkeeper as a half forward in an all ireland semi final

Best performance of the year was when Gallagher was gone

The way I'm looking at it now is it's all about the 15 on the pitch rather than the manager.

Management is overrated.
