The battle for third place in both of those senior groups should be interesting.

Intermediate has quarterfinals this year believe

Any idea how many teams involved? Is it 8 or one of those set ups where group winner goes straight to sf and 2nd/3rd into a qf like other comps?

The only way it'll work

Will Ballycastle be able to maintain this league momentum or will they wilt when the others get their full compliments back?

Can't see them maintaining it, as much as it would be good to have them back to being competitive.

Hopefully they can and put something there to build on over the next few years.

I'd say their panel is bigger than before, working on the league to provide a platform for Championship is good when you haven't been dinning at the top table for a while..

But teams that build for championship have a knack for timing it right for early September, if they collect some silverware this year then its something to build on for next
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

As much as it would be good to see in terms of the championship, i cant see it. They did this last year as well at the tail of the league and were getting good results but once the teams get their full panels back it tends to tell a story.

The league is of no bearing to any of the group games so i wouldnt put much creed into any results.

NorthAntrimSaff

Nowhere near it. Theyd probably need a fully fit Niall McKenna and Ciaran Clarke.
Is Clarke finished? What a hurler he was

imtommygunn

That's a great result.

Carlow were in the final already, a dead rubber for them.  :)

Down finished off with a win v Westmeath, a team we haven't beat in a while

imtommygunn

A win is a win  ;D  Good day all round.

Hurlers played well, shape was good. Just a pity whatever went on and no doubt impacted those first two results.

Davy gone now so who do we want or who do we think might be in contention?

I see one of the media had a list of 5 possibilities yesterday. Mickey McShane, Johnny Campbell, Neil McManus, Gregory O'Kane and Liam Sheedy. Any of those you would like or any other interesting names?

imtommygunn

Would like to see Gregory O'Kane. Unsure Sheedy would look near it and IMO McManus too soon and probably trying to build a media career which going into management would derail.

marty34

Why would Sheedy's name be in the mix?

Is that clickbait?

Seriously?

It's absolutely bizarre that McManus name in the mix, zero coaching experience that I am aware of (and no criticism as he's still playing for his club) and it will never happen as he's obviously trying to carve out a media career.

Dick O'Kane would be my pick, no ego there and that's what's needed.
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come
