I think I've often run 89-90-91 together. 90-91 was the first real season I remember being attentive to, although remember key aspects of the former season.

What former non title winning Gunner somewhat deserves a piece of this win? 22 years of a lot of doldrums and fancy teams with no resolve.

Two for me Xhaka and Emile Smith Rowe.. Both set us on the right track in those early Arteta days

Xhaka posted a classy message.

It's mad how sports joe feel the need to find a GAA angle on absolutely everything.

The fella briefly did some part time S&C work for Kilmacud, and that's what they lead with. Not a former LoI or FAI man, despite pushing 20 years in soccer. The other Irish guy there since Wengers time gets a footnote because he wasn't involved in the GAA. Bizarre

Xhaka lost the head a few times during one of the melt down seasons, seemed more interested in getting stuck into the opposition needlessly than leading the team - but yes what a redemption arc and a great player for Arsenal, and now Sunderland.

Who is your current favourite player?

For me, Calafiori followed by Super Leandro.

His Leverkusen stint was v impressive, still remember his performance against France at Euros in 2021 as well, probably the reason he was retained at that time

Current fave, in recent weeks Rice, playing like a man possessed, honourable mention to Gabriel who clearly wants the big wins so bad and is a total beast who doesn't have to resort to dirtbag tactics the like of Sergio Ramos, has also massively improved his ball playing game to cement his place in the team

In the final third, a certain lack of pzazz, ultimately the league was won in the transfer window with the purchasing of Eze and Gyökeres, interesting to see if he tries to land a whale in the summer to kick on, would need to be left wing or centre forward, maybe Mbappe if Jose fucks him out

Benny Blanco (Ben White) and Rice.. Both play through injuries/fatigue and never any complaints from them just two consummate professionals.

On what planet can Arsenal afford him though? Wages alone are three times their highest earner.

He is a player Real won't easily shift in general.

Giroud won plenty in his career, pity not more with Arsenal.

The way the fans used to sing Giroud to Hey Jude was mental.

He'd have to be one of the more popular fans favourites in the in-between era form Fabregas/Van-P to the current squad.

Glad he won a world cup and nearly a second.

You must have missed all the diving and feigning injury in the last few weeks and was lucky to escape a red card for City for the headbutting incident with Haaland. He's a very good player but he is very much in the 'dirtbag' category.

I think Mbappe would go to Saudi for money over one of the big leagues for glory if he leaves Madrid.

Good Shout. Arsenal had their share of numpties in that period as well
