The club's wage bill has risen to become one of the highest in world football, reaching £347mn last season.

Still miles of City.

I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Don't mind me. Delirious on Defense.

I think I've often run 89-90-91 together. 90-91 was the first real season I remember being attentive to, although remember key aspects of the former season.

What former non title winning Gunner somewhat deserves a piece of this win? 22 years of a lot of doldrums and fancy teams with no resolve.

Two for me Xhaka and Emile Smith Rowe.. Both set us on the right track in those early Arteta days

Congratulations to Arsenal, been the most consistent team over the season.  The defence and keeper been top class.

City had a number of games after Christmas that the Pep machine would normally win (Chelsea Home, Sunderland Away, Bournemouth Away, Everton Away, West Ham Away, Forest Home, Also dropped points against the worst Spurs team in living memory) and Arsenals fast start to the season give them the breathing space they required.

Given the expected change at City, Liverpool in a bad spot currently and Man United having an extra 10 plus games minimum next year it is a real chance for Arteta to push on and win a couple of titles.

Did Xhaka not have a love hate relationship with fans and club? Was he not stripped of the captaincy? Seeing the impact he has had at Sunderland seems to be a leader and some of the characters at Arsenal at the time may not have been on same page. Was a great bit of business in summer past and had a big say in Sunderland staying up.

Congratulations to the Gunners and well done to Mikel 'Tony Pulis in disguise' Arteta. Only manager apart from the great King Kenny to win win the title with their first managerial job (though it took Kenny a small bit shorter timeframe!)

It's there now for youse dominate for the next decade. You'll catch ourselves and United and become the most successful club in the country...

Hool on there, football only started in 1992 and Liverpool are way behind in the pecking order behind Chelsea, Arsenal, City and Manu.

Sorry forgot that....good to know the titles for 1-0 to the Arsenal don't count then as well

Well done to the Gooners. The best team always wins the league. They're probably big enough favourites to win it again next season. God knows how that new fella will fare at City and Liverpool are in a bit of a rebuild. Arsenal probably need to strengthen in their wide areas and if they do that and Arteta lets the handbrake off a bit then they are well set to win another few.

There was an incident during Emerys time as manager were he was booed and taunted fans when he was subbed off vs Palace.

Was set to leave but Arteta got the job and talked him into staying, turned it around with the fans and was a massive presence for the youngsters coming through Saka, Martinelli, Smith-Rowe. Gutted when he left us for Leverkusen. As you said with Sunderland, impact he has had there probably one of the signings of the season.

The club's wage bill has risen to become one of the highest in world football, reaching £347mn last season.

Man City have spent over 800 million more in wages over last 10 years than Arsenal. Wages are always more alligned to success rather than spend. And that's only declared wages. That's what your up against. A state owned behemoth.

Look-Up!

Congratulations Arsenal fans. Huge win for the club and manager. At times this season they looked like they could/should have ran away with this, but as the season wore on they looked like a team burdened down by the weight of a huge monkey and ready to buckle if the right pressure was applied. But luckily that team was not about this season and they deserve great credit for rallying after the City defeat. And they have been knocking on the door last few seasons and deserve it on that consistency if anything else. This might be the start of something great for them if shackles can come off.

Great timing too with the CL final a week and a half away. Get a few small celebrations out of the way, come down, and still have over a week to prepare. And a nice little run out against Palace, get 60 minutes into a few of them, but not having to over exert and risk injury. Season could get even better yet.
