Same 26 named for tomorrow, if they limit the 2 pointers for Monaghan and raise the intensity from the Antrim game should get over the line.

I think that will probably be the lineup too.
Very quiet on here given it's an Ulster SF tomorrow.

Hard to know where we are - a bit hot and cold at stages so far for us. Monaghan a poor league, but were missing players.
Could be a coin toss.
I'm hoping though we can increase our intensity and play with a bit of swagger and confidence - and if we do we'll win. If we just show up and go through the motions, it could be a hard watch.

I'm going to go with Derry by 3+.

Quote from: Wildweasel74 on April 30, 2026, 10:59:32 PMWas over at Swatragh v Dungiven the nite, never seen 2 teams with so many men over 6ft. That lad Haran gonna be some player for Derry in a few years, scored 2:3 from wing forward, see he played around there. for Dungiven minors last yr. Not sure why he full bck in the U20's, Lad should be in the forwards.
Was he number 8 or 12 for Dungiven? I thought they were two really good players.

We'll say nothing about the referee performance in that one.lol. I was thinking on the way hom, I don't think there were any yellow cards nevermind red?

It's been very quiet, to be fair. We played Antrim in the quarter-final so not much to say about that.

On the positive side, we're close to a full panel again, which is a change from the injury issues last year. By all accounts, we've a much better medical setup this year.

Just Odhran Lynch, Dan Higgins, Matthew Downey and Marty Bradley on the rehab list, and hopefully none of them is far away.

By all accounts, the camp is in a good place, and the two-week break should have helped.

Derry for the win by a small margin, and if we don't get it done, we wont be in a good place for All-Ireland series.

Thundery showers and light winds forecast for 5 o'clock in Armagh tomorrow. Excellent!

I am not convinced by Glass at CHF (not that he plays there) seems like trying to shoehorn in the best 15 rather than a tactical plan. In saying that CHF was a problem throughout the league so may be the best option available.

He probably has the most potential for playmaking if he plays like an 11 and not 6 like the last day, good teams are wise to the over reliance on Ethan for setting up 11v11 scores.

Wildweasel74

8 was Padraig O'Kane he been full bck on tbat MacRory Cup team, both them lads are 19, but Haran can score of both feet.

Interstellar

What a complete shambles of a performance by Derry. 14 wides, 2 points up, in possession with seconds remaining and couldn't close out the game. Mcguigan's accuracy for sometime has been way off it and he slows everything down. No-one able to kick a 2 pointer. The switches of Glass and McEvoy doesn't work and Forbes suspect under the high ball.

What was the targets at start of the year? Promotion and an Ulster final...

Theres an elephant in the room that we insist on building a team around, he wore 11 today.

He's not our leader, Doherty and Mc Guigan go missing when the pressure really goes on.
Mentally soft and easy to get at.

One or the other and ideally both. Football is a completely different sport with the new rules. We have taken a long time to adjust for a variety of reasons. I still think there's plenty of football to be played this year.

LoughNeagh

Don't want to mention individuals but today a few big players didn't stand up and control the game. The fact they were left on in the second half of extra time was a very poor choice.

Some of the subs today that didn't get on should really be considering the point of being there

Bench is fairly light, days of bringing McFaul or big Emmett on are behind us now sadly. Matthew Downey hasn't been seen in some time and of course McAteer and J Doherty weren't long for it.

I think that's unfair. We had too many wides and when Monaghan had their spell they made hay with 2 pointers. It gave them and the crowd a boost. Inexcusable to lose the game though. They showed a great mentality though to go 3 points up in extra time, be pegged back but still be a point clear with a minute to go. Not too many make that 2 pointer in the end which is why Beggan is one of the best on the island.

A lot of soul searching needs done after that lose though. Poor decision making over scores and at times when we needed to just keep the ball. It was all so unnecessary.
