Has the balance shifted this year? Cargin finally now well back in amongst (if not a bit behind) a few of the traditional chasing pack?

I thought you took him calling you a clampit really well ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D lol

;D  Its all friendly rivalry DK! (sometimes  ;) )

I'm not saying they are over the hill, but the chasing pack have made big strides in closing the gap and potentially gaining an edge on them in my opinion.

Caesar, I dont think they're missing too many at the minute outside of shivers and mcnabb, so I don't buy that.

Wanting to jump in on this conversation... this groups missed this craic. Good to see it back.

From what iv seen to date, The upper class swamp men, Kickhams, are the barometer for the rest to see can they get to their level sooner rather than later. They arent showing any mercy and whether it was Cargin, Moneyglass, LD or Casements, they seem fixated on implementing their game plan/style of play to the highest level they can. That means they will be a well oiled machine come championship. The only thing i would be concerned about come August... can they find another gear by then.... have they shown their full hand to the rest, too early... and can the contain their ego, as weve seen in the past, they can get very ahead of themselves like the Prawn Sandwich Brigade.

What i liked about what the Current County Champions achieved last year, there wasnt much noise coming from their camp and they went under the radar a bit until Quarter final stage when they really ramped it up and caught everyone on the hop.

Self proclaimed Contenders, Bannsides Army, definitely have the ability to reach a final again and beat anyone on their day. With new management in this year, i can see them chinning a big team come championship. I just dont believe theyve mentality to go further than what theyve done to date.

The Milltown men, seem to be making tracks. I can see a young energetic well coached group who can make a good run come championship with Burns a handful for any team. Likewise i can see Lurgan Reserves with the bit between their teeth this year, another dangerous team when they stop killing eachother and pull together. Notable mentions to City Mountain men under Fitzsimons this year also, they a clinker of a forward signed from somewhere in south, will definitely bolster their fire power, as well as Antrim Most Succesful Club, think Mcbride will keep them in div1 for another year.

Still believe The Lower Class Swamp men have the best panel of players. Its just whether they can bounce back after last years county final defeat and if their current county coach can come out of retirement

Very exciting championship coming this year i feel.

Not sure any club is making noise, a bit like our political parties it tends to be opposition shouting about them!

St galls have made progress however the young squad is very reliant on a 40 year old at midfield, age isn't everything and a Cargin St galls knock out game would be a terrific advert for keeping yourself fit in old age.

Since when has Antrim senior squad makeup been the barometer for anything.
In that case get your money on Moneyglass minors winning the A this year, they somehow have 4 starters yet played u16b last season and we're lucky to win it. Can't figure it out 😀

Had Minor club been U17 we might have had a chance the fact its U18 will hamper them. Portglenones to lose.

Sure what is a year at that age, 4 starters on the county minor team and your manager is also the county minor manager. What an advantage!!!

When you explain it like that you're  right actually, shoo ins for the title

HTownlad

St John's have won only 1 championship in close to 40 years
St Galls have won more ulsters, competed in more all Ireland finals and also won the all Ireland

That for me puts them as the most successful club

Milltown Row2

Define success though?

I'd put the Johnnies in as top dogs purely because they have the most titles, as a club they've competed and won hurling titles too.

The Johnnies should have an all Ireland but came up against a college team full of stars
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Is the formatt of the competition like traditional championship football (one and done) or is there other rounds/ backdoor options?
