SouthOfThe Bann

Down could be the big losers today.

If Westmeath hold on that is.

who is the commentator.... dont think he understands how the 2 pointer works

Half-time Monaghan 0-15 Cavan 0-8
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Schkite

Great half by Monaghan overall. Came out of the blocks flying and playing very positive football, quick kickpasses into the full forward line, and plenty of options to take scores. Unlucky not to get a goal too. Cleaned Cavan at midfield the first quarter.

Cavan came back into it 2nd quarter then and could have had more scores had they been a bit more composed. On the other side, Monaghan were a bit more sloppy with some hand passes especially and gave away soft turnovers. Score looks fair as it stands but game could come down to who starts 2nd half the best. Monaghan could be out of sight if they start it like they started the game, but Cavan aren't out of it yet

justice is done. Beggan saves a penalty that should never have been. Foul was a yard outside

ElJeffe

Yes but they should be a lot further ahead. Assuming they go on and win this they have a lot to clean up before the derry game

Wildweasel74

A point for Cavan would have been justice since it should have been a tap over free.
Somehow Cavan remain in with a chance Beggan showing that saves are still a keeper's bread and butter.

yeah monaghan wide open at the back. Very naive of them. They had a big enough lead but now its a nervous finish

Where the foul happens doesn't matter.

Penalty can and does be given if the ref deems it as a goal scoring chance.
