Ticket sales, programme sales, food and drink sales gross at least €1m?
Longford and Carlow players in a National Final in Croke Park.
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

Maybe king Jarlath will intervene as its a safeguarding issue.
Can't be letting high profile players run about punching lads, serious risk of serious injury with blows like that. Disgrace if nothing is done about it, as blatant as ive seen in a long time.

Donegal by far the better side today.
id be more wary than ever of Kerry after that though.

Quite a weekend for clock watching.  The scoring droughts in the Down-Wexford game I attributed to Division 3 football.  But Kerry has all the talent in the world.

After their first goal, Kerry went 19 minutes without a point.  After Donegal's first goal, Kerry went almost 19 minutes before scoring.  Talk about being off form!

Just curious if anyone thinks this is the first sign that defences are getting a handle on the new rules.  Donegal, who were certainly in top form, were stuck at 1 point for a significant stretch early in the contest.

It just seems bizarre to me that every year we talk about how good, how competitive, how unpredictable our national leagues are. And then the league finals come along and without fail, drain the absolute f**king life out of us.
3 out of 4 highly competitive games and seeing what it meant to Carlow would suggest keeping them. I know Down thought they were above division 3 finals and looked depressed but not every team did

Is Murphy going to get away with this? Is there anything that says decisions can be looked at retrospectively?

The whole country has seen him box the head, and ribs, off Dylan Casey and because Gough gave him a yellow, nothing can be done??

Would be an argument for VAR

The GAA stance on incidents like this has been pathetic over the years, cant see it changing now. Unfortunately it is going to take a serious injury in order to change it. All this talk about sportsmanship, respect etc and they allow players to get assaulted on the pitch.

Would have been some outcry if he was from Armagh or Tyrone

Tbf though gough would have sent him off without hesitation if that had been the case

I think once given a card, then that was that. Maybe I'm wrong?

But the closed fist to the ribs was just as bad. Referees will be all over him now in championship with all this hulabaloo now abut it. About time.

I just wish a manager would be honest. Could Mc Guinness not just say yeah, poor attempt at a so called tackle? Was a red card. End of.

Gough needs to go as a ref, over the years he has been getting worse. He is the most inconsistent ref there is. Always making stupid decisions.

Wildweasel74

You need relook at what he seen C Glass off for in the Kildare game which was somehow upheld and that yesterday!

marty34

Always said GAA need a panel, like rugby, to sit down on a Monday morning and look at issues like this.

Then dish out appropiate suspensions. No appeals or waffle like that. End of.

square_ball

Those sneaky punches to the ribs have been going on for years and have never been punished by the ref or called out by pundits. Its a cowards tackle knowing that 100% of the time you'll get away with it.

As for Gough the less said the better. He has been a bad referee for years.

didnt see the incident so wont comment on it but can anything be done about it given Murphy was yellow carded? Assuming thats what you are talking about?

Murphy been a tr**p for years on the field and the refs worship the ground he walks on, can't see it changing unless there is a media pile on, but he's their darling so I doubt it.

Don't disagree on this, but his Linesman and the 4th Official let him down a bagful. Happened right in front of both of them and they still let him dish out a yellow. Poor all round.
