It's like Easter, it's a different weekend every year. But yes earliest ever this year.

Saw the question if Spurs are relegated is it the first game next season?

Still can't really believe Arsenal are where they are at this stage. I haven't come away from a game thinking they clicked since November really. Even the win at Leeds was functional.

But when you look at latest form, they're in the top two for last 5 games, 10 games, 15 games, 20 games, 25 games etc.

They've been marginally consistently the best of a very inconsistent league.

Ideally, the forward unit click in the last 8 games here and put on a couple of memorable performances. Not seeing it though.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Changes from Day to St Totteringhams Year.

A lot of teams will follow Arsenal agriculture methods now. Artery copying Allardyce and Pulis methods. Would get pulled apart if actually tried to play football

Must be short odds for quadruple now.

League in bag
Champions League practically in final with easier side of draw
League cup final.  Have Man City number now.
Got favourable draws in FA cup Probably get Chelsea home next round.

Arsenal be pulled apart if tried play football??? Bayern, Inter and Athletico games say different. Statistically they play against the deepest block in league so have found another way. 100 goals for season now also. So negative.

ONeill

It'll be interesting this week if the CL form continues. It feels now that Arsenal would struggle to a 1-0 win v H&W Welders but also do the same v Real Madrid.

Interesting parallels to the 22/23 season.

Then:
Arsenal P30 73pts
City P29 67pts

Now:
Arsenal P30 67pts
City P29 60pts

The run-in in 22/23:

Away v WHam draw
Home v Soton draw
Away v City Lost
Home v Chelsea won
Away v Newcastle won
Home v Brighton lost
Away v Forest lost
Home v Wolves won

If City win 9 straight they win the league, its possible but feels improbable
22/23 was badly thrown away, but ultimately it came down to squad depth if memory serves me

Memory is very fuzzy when using a squad depth excuse for not beating the might of West Ham,Southampton,Brighton and Nottingham Forest.  Manchester City applied the pressure and Arsenal cracked under it.

No such worries for Arsenal this season as Manchester City are mediocre and won't be good enough to apply much pressure in the run-in.

If City win 9 remaining matches they will have 87 pts. If Arsenal win 7 of their remaking 8 matches (losing to city) they will have 88 pts.
Never underestimate the power of complaining

Another bla game.

Interesting what happened to Saka tonight. If he wasn't injured, it's the first time really Arteta giving him the curly finger early for performance.

Everton a fresh but really crucial challenge now at 530 on Saturday. They're in decent form and have had a good break. Big, big performance needed.

Reality is arsenal have not been on fire since Xmas.
They could well go on to win the league cos city no big shake really but the champions league ? Not a hope !!

I agree they have a couple of penalty kicks to get to semi final, think they will struggle over two legs when they eventually meet a decent side in knockout. The league will take alot out of the players mentally also.

Would be good for them to win the league cup as would take some pressure off internally while trying chase other three trophies down.

ONeill

Thought the ref's approach to corners was interesting. Whereas the English refs let anything go really, today's ref kept stopping play if there was any holding, dished out yellows, and then just gave a free-out if it persisted.

Probably a good thing.
