Even people in Cork would not watch Cork.

Some soccer manager said of some opposition team if they were playing in his back garden, he'd close the curtains.

A huge chunk of Cork GAA hurling folk think like this about their footballers.

The hurling bandwagon has a tonne of momentum at the moment in Cork which never helps.

In my experience and from what I've heard from people I think Cork is the county with the strongest divide between hurling and football, which is mad given how much the county goes on about being a dual-county.

It is mad actually. Look at Donal og is distaste for football is palpable

Half of those who stayed back had gone by half time, presumably were only waiting for the traffic to clear!
Desperate that. Stuff like that made Tipp embarrassing them last year all the sweeter.

Agree with you on that

The East Cork crowd are total hurling nazis and actively sh*t all over football at every turn. Football is outright banned in some clubs. Same attitude with some in the city, although most clubs in city have a decent football cohort. But even then they wouldn't kill themselves supporting Cork footballers or football in general. This encompasses most of the hurling bandwagon by and large. And many of the county board officers come from this cohort, hence the lack of giving a tuppence about football.

The footballers support would come in large parts from West Cork, Duhallow (near Kerry border) and a few scattered ones from the city, mid Cork around Macroom. But the Cork footballers are hands down the worst supported county team.

From a neutral perspective it's a real shame- so much talent there.

Newbridge Exile

Derry 2-17 Offaly 0-03 half time , Derry had wind and advantage in first half

Truthsayer

Some very poor Leinster teams in that division. The naysayers from Tyrone who suggested Tyrone could get relegated ffs!..

Newbridge Exile

Finish 2-25 to 0-08 at Celtic park

Been a while since a team in Division 2 had a 23 point win I'd imagine.

Can't imagine what the bus trip home will be like for Offaly

Derry right in the promotion mix after this.

Wildweasel74

Derry just stopped 10mins into the 2nd half!

Captain Scarlet

Meath get a win tomorrow and themselves and Derry are in a great place.

Match day 3 and 4 usually sort out here teams are at.  Derry on an upward curve. A good feel factor about Derry now. The game V Cork will tell a lot - depends how Cork do today. Promotion might come down to head-to-head.

Offaly are dropping off badly. A lot of injuries. All the good work of last year undone unfortunately for them. Meath on the way back again. They've come a long way since Colm O'Rourke was in charge. Like Derry, the buzz is back in Meath.

moonster

Meath will give Cork a good trimming.
