Hope I'm wrong and I hope Martin pulls something outta the bag here but I'm not looking forward to this game and espicailly the return game in Germany  next week. Celtic could get a proper pumping with that midfield, Hatate and Nygren simply can't play in the same midfield as they don't do enough work. A lot of people yapped about Engels being a waste of money but now we don't have him for 6 weeks he's gonna be missed. Celtic's best midfield is McGregor, engels and the Ox. One is injured and the other is not eligible to play tonight...Throw in Trusty's perfermance from Sunday and still no Green Brigade so no atmosphere, we could take a real beating over the two games.
Hope i'm wrong and MON works his magic

When the game starts it'll probably be the usual kicking and heading every ball but right now, I don't really care. If we could some how get out of this season with the league title, I'd take that right now. Been a mental year and while most years I've been craving European success, this year we've been that bad, domestic wins will be hard earned.

I left a carload up to George Best Airport earlier and all agreed this year is all about winning the league, and the cup would be a bonus.

We simply arnt winning this over 2 legs.

Get Johnston, Ianacho, CCV, Osmand, Jota all back plus Engels and next year is a new season.

Surely there has to be a better keeper somewhere in Glasgow...

Celtic fans booing their own player now- that poor form from 'the best fans in the world'

Targetman

This is brutal tonight,Schmeichal is hopeless, if its on target tonight its going in, just tell Stuttgart we're not travelling for the return leg!!

Schmeichel did not pick himself, is obviously injured and not fit for purpose.
Mo'N selected him and is 100% responsible, though Sinisalo hasn't exactly looked adequate.

Unfortunately time & injuries have caught up on him. Slow reactions & damaged shoulder!

Kasper S. will take a lot of blame for last night and rightly so. He's been poor this season, especially in Europe.  Earlier in season, he disn't look fit. Looked overweight, if I can seay that. So I don't know what's going on.

Regardless, his poor performance will take the focus off the team. Apart from the right back, I thought everybody else was poor enough. No energy and no bite.

Trusty and Scales are very average. Defence has conceded so many goals over the season. It's panic stations when they have the ball at the back. You just don't know what's going to happen. Their 2nd goal, from a Celtic's point of view was brutal. Man just had to head it after it came in, via a deflection, from 30 yds out. He just stood there and headed it. Didn't have to move.

It's hard to believe that a year ago Celtic went toe-to-toe with Bayern Munich. How much have they fell off the cliff.

Atmosphere was brutal with no GB. A few thousand Stuggart supporters outsinging Celtic supporters. Desmond and Board have made some mess of the club. They all need to go. For me, that'd be success this season.

Elements of the Celtic support were pathetic last night. From that stupid protest disrupting the start of the match to booing Schmeichel - the most noise made all night from the home fans. Like a library in between.

better off out of Europe. More important things to concentrate on

The club is in some mess at the minute. I can't remember it as bad.

Ange put a massive plaster over a gaping wound in his time at Celtic.  Desmond and the Board have overseen a managed decline in the last 20 years.  Squad, stadium, academy, structure and governance all not fit for purpose.  Not one penny has Desmond invested in the club and the Board have rewarded themselves handsomely in all that time.  The other clubs in Scotland are beginning to get their act together and this could get a whole lot worse before anything changes.  Still, it's all the fans fault......
