And is they work related to the planning permission expiring in July ?

It's just ground work, no building work, so I wouldn't be so sure just yet

Residents living close to the derelict site have been advised in a letter from Ulster GAA that "enabling works for the stadium redevelopment" will begin from next Monday, January 26.

The work is set to last for 12 weeks.

"Initial works will involve site preparations, followed by site clearance and the demolition of existing structures within the stadium's boundary, including the old stand," the letter states.

Never in doubt!

The old stuff has to be cleared otherwise no work can ever be done
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

I get that but we've been given plenty false dawns so excuse my pessimism

This is just demolition. Even the Ulster Council can't balls that up

Hereiam

There will only be minor works done to secure the planning permission, I have a feeling this will rumble on for another few years yet.

For real? For example:

"We discovered undisclosed and unexpected Asbestos in the roof of the old stand. We now have to stop and reappraise how we perform the demolition in line with Health & Safety guidance.

With the age of that building, it was always going to have that

I wholly expect it does and that may have been part of the reason it was shut so quick.

Now - if that is the case - I'd like to think the contractors are entirely aware!

Hopefully there has been no wink-wink nudge-nudge bullshit that then falls apart in the cold light of day.

An Asbestos check the first thing you do. It been fair possible Asbestos was there.

Not a problem lads Sure there is a bonfire site down the road that takes asbestos.

tiempo
